Deceptive and manipulative and illegal

I received a very tempting offer in the mail, which provided a website address. I went to the website address it said zero interest rate until mid 2021. So I put in the details of the bank transfer I wanted. After a few minutes and congratulated me and said that I've been accepted for the balance transfer.

three weeks went by and I never received a card or a statement of any kind. I called and asked where my card was and they said they had sent it out(which I don't believe because I always get my mail).

So they said they put another one in the mail. Finally about two weeks later, now five weeks after the application was excepted I receive a card in the mail with the details of the credit card. I was not able to sign onto the website with a credit card number and sign in and look at the account.

so they said they put another one in the mail. Finally about two weeks later, now five weeks after the application was excepted I receive a card in the mail with the details of the credit card. I was not able to sign onto the website with a credit card number and sign in and look at the account.

When I signed in I saw they had charged me an astronomical transfer fee. I have never been told about the fee nor was I aware of it. I questioned him about it and I said oh it's there in the paperwork which they had sent me five weeks after it was accepted. As I was unaware of this and they now completed the balance transfer there was nothing I could do. I filed a report The consumer financial protection bureau

https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/

I never heard back from the consumer finance however the bank sent me a copy of the credit card terms. This is now almost 2 months after the credit card was approved. I asked the bank to remove the fee but they refused to.

So on a transfer of $8370 I was charge $418 which is 5%. Had I known that I was going to be charge that much I would never have agreed to the bank transfer. Nowhere was it disclosed. My opinion is this is fraud and deceptive practices. I don't want anyone else to be ripped off the way I have been so I'm putting this out there for everyone to see and hopefully it gets to the top of Google. Shame on you first bank card, and shame on you consumer protection for not doing anything about it.

Yes, it did say June 2021

Yes, you are right it did say June 2021. But for the effectiveness of completing this complaint quickly I just said mid 2021. So if that’s the only thing you can find against the original complaint, let that one be taken off the record. The issue is that it’s a deceptive and manipulative practice. I am going to submit another formal complaint to the Consumer Finance Board showing them your response. So if you wish, you can keep filing insulting responses or you could just keep quiet, and salvage what little dignity your bank has left. Maybe Scott Smith, your SVP needs to see this. And then onto the media investigative reporting. Plenty of TV stations waiting for stories like this.

Of course you work for them!

Of course you work for them! You are a disgusting piece of work. Anyone reading this can now see how poor the customer service responses. I’m not the type of person that will sit back and let it happen. If you knew my background you would understand. It’s OK with you that the consumer gets ripped off? Let the public judge for themselves. I’m going to post a website with a warning on it. And it’ll be at the top of Google in no time. Just like this report will be.

Incorrect

You claim the fee was never disclosed. That is an incorrect statement. When you received the offer in the mail you received the terms and conditions. Included with that was the Fee Disclosure, which states all of the fees..including your transfer fees. How do I know? Because that if Federal Law, and it isn't burried in the fine print, it is very specifically and promenetly listed..again per Federal Guidelines. I can also guarantee that the site did not say "Zero interest until Mid-2021", it would have given you a specific month or length of time(I.E. June 2021 or 12 months).

Next, when you went to the site you didn't just enter in your banking information. You entered in ALL of your personal information and at some point clicked a box or filled in a field that said you have read and agreed to the terms. There was also additional links on the site you entered your information in to view the terms again.
'
YOU failed to read the terms that you stated you had read and agree to. The CFPB did "nothing" about this because the bank didn't do anything wrong.  Perhaps next time you should pay more attention to what you are agreeing to before you agree to any type of loan or legal agreement.

Pure Garbage!

Anytime...ANYTIME you are presented with a credit card offer, YOU are provided with a FULL DISCLOSURE of fees, rates, policies, interest and conditions. YOU CHOSE not to read it and just agreed without READING what you were agreeing to! What is wrong with you??? You may also wish to learn how to write without over using the word "so" like some teenager. No, I don't work for "them"!

It was deceptive and hidden. It took you five weeks to send me the paperwork. Five weeks! And look how you were responding to the issue? Is this how you treat customers? Shame on you! What horrible customer service!! You deceptively hide a 5% transfer fee in terms and conditions on a website which you know that nobody looks at because they don’t understand the concept of the loan. Carry on with this attitude and I’m gonna put a website at the top of Google with the paperwork on it. I’m a website builder. So just carry-on and let’s see how this goes.
