Due to a suprise emergency I needed a cash loan ASAP. On 7/17/2011 I patronized First Cash Pawn. They offered a personal loan service in which my personal belongings would be held as collateral, also known as a PAWN loan. I've never needed to use a service such as this but do to rough economic times I opted to use this service instead of asking my family for help. WHAT A MISTAKE...

I went into their store in Arlington, VA and spoke with a salesperson there. They appraised my items(my grandfathers ring and my first Movado watch) at $500.00 and I agreed to take a loan with them. After reviewing the paper work my payments for interest and storage totaled $50.00/month. My buy-back amount would be $550.00. Ive paid the $50.00/month on-time every month and have never been late. I had to leave Virginia due to a work/business opportunity in Texas. Prior to leaving I stopped by First Cash Pawn to see what I can do because I wasnt able to buy-back my ring and watch at the time and that I would be moving out of the area for work. I also informed them that I wouldnt be returning for an extended period of time. I asked what options I had with regards to buying-back my items. The person on-site informed me that I could have someone come in and pay for it. They told me that all that person would need is a receipt from one of my monthly installment payments. On 3/16/12 I had my wife stop by to buy-back my items. She brought with her a receipt from my previous monthly payments and $550.00(CASH). I followed the instructions that their on-site person gave me but to our surprise, First Cash wouldnt release my items to her.

She arrived with full payment, $550.00, and a copy of one of my receipts. After speaking with the manager, she was informed that they wouldnt release my items to her because I personally needed to pick up my items. I called the store while she was there because she informed me of the issues she was having by calling me on my mobile. I spoke with Waldo(Manager on-site on 3/16/12)and he informed me that I had 2 options:

1) Continue paying $50.00/month until I could return to pick up the items personally.
    or
2) Let my contract expire and they would sell back my items to my wife BUT she needed to be there when they first opened on that day or there's no guarantee that items WOULD NOT be sold.

I saw this as being unfair so I contacted First Cash Finanacial Services corporate office. I spoke with Colton Kenney. He listend to my issue and had the regional manager call me, Dennis Norris. Dennis Norris gave US(me & my wife) the option to provide the original loan agreement and then she could pick the items up. I had my wife find the original agreement and return to the First Cash store to pick up my items. They again denied her paying the loan to buy back my items due to the fact that my contract wasnt signed. I informed Dennis Norris that my original contract "COPY" was NOT signed by me. Please note I also informed the on-site person from my original loan date, 7/17/11, that it wasnt signed. He told me that because it wasnt signed we have no other option other than for me to come pick it up personally and continue paying $50/month until then.

THIS IS UNFAIR  and a MONEY GOUGING SCAM.

Before leaving First Cash on 7/17/11 I confirmed with the person on-site whether I needed the signed copy, she said "You're good with the unsigned copy".

Before leaving for Texas I confirmed with First Cash that my wife buying back my items WAS NOT going to be an issue. The person on-site said what I needed to do and my wife buying back my items would be "NO PROBLEM".
Now that I'm having issues, I'm getting the run-around from their corporate office.
AGAIN, THIS IS UNFAIR.

Also, on the contract, it doesn't not state anywhere that I physically need to be there to pick up my items. In fact, I've signed on the contract that these I items do belong to me out-right and that I have the right transfer as I wish. Well FIRST CASH PAWN a.k.a. FIRST CASH FINANCIAL SERVICES, I WANT TO EXERCISE MY CONTRACTUAL RIGHT TO TRANSFER THESE ITEMS TO MY WIFE. Why won't you follow your contract?

First Cash Pawn full of SCAM ARTISTS? YES, YES, YES...Especially everyone I've spoke with:
- Waldo at the First Cash Pawn location at 89 North Glebe Road, Alrington, VA
- Dennis Norris - First Cash Pawn - Northern Virginia Regional Manager
- Colton McKinney - First Cash Financial Services in Arlington, Texas

Do I really need to drive from Houston, TX to Arlington, TX just to sit in Colton's office until this issue is addressed? I hope not...
