Genco Marketplace is a dishonest company starting with them and with the trucking company that ships their items.  The trucking company conveniently is linked them also.

 

I received an email from their salesperson Michael Woods that there was a $3500 truckload available.  I immediately looked at the manifest and decided it was a fantastic deal.  So I arranged to purchase it.  The next day, Mr. Woods posts the same message with the exact manifest attached to it.  I asked him if this was my order and he said "No worries".  

After the trucking company (which is owned by Genco) rescheduled me 4 times in a row (each day I had a crew on standby to unload the truck, which cost me money), the truck arrived.  The first thing that was brought to my attention by the driver before he even opened the door, was that the pallets were in awful shape.  We decided to unload them and see what the damage was.  One of the pallets had spilled tiny candy sticks all over the truck bed and the drive slipped and put out his shoulder.  One of my crew members had to finish pushing the pallets to the end of the truck.  

The driver helped me by taking full inventory of the damaged items.  He scanned in pallet tags and took plenty of pictures.  He even filed a claim for me right there with the trucking company on the spot.  So I thought that part was taken care of.

After further review, it was found that I only received maybe 1/4 of what was listed in the manifest that I purchased.  I decided that if the trucking company was going to reimburse me for the damaged goods, that I would keep the decent merchandise and sell it.  

I had to file an additional claim with the trucking company.  They conveniently didn't have the first, even though the trucking receipt and their webpage showed the load as being damaged.  I submitted every single document and then some, and received a denial letter in the mail without any explanation. 

There is no number for the claims department and you can only email them or leave a message with the receptionist.  I left many and never received a call back.  I even wrote a letter to them.  Finally, I had to write the Better Business Bureau and Genco's trucking department wrote back and said that I didn't have the weight of the damaged items.  How would I be able to weigh a dirtbike, treadmill, trampolines, etc.  This shouldn't have mattered anyway because as I said, the driver had scanned in the pallet tags, which already had the weight listed.

I am still waiting to hear back from them again through the BBB, but I expect them to get away with their scam anyway.  It appears they have been doing this for a very long time.

 

A year ago, I had ordered a truckload and the same thing happened:  the items did not match the manifest.  The manager Vince Curtin said that he would just close down my account if I pursued the matter further.  I shouldn't have ordered from them again, but wanted to give them another shot.  

This company is not giving you any deals.  If you do the math based on the actual merchandise you recieve, you will see that they are ripping you off.
