Before I signed up to Google Maps Gurus (GMG) for their SEO services, the guarantee they offered sounded brilliant, how wrong was I.
I have a small handyman business that offers a range of services, so I rely on the internet for enquires, as I don’t have the budget to do main stream marketing. Anyways, I signed up with GMG and due to my basic knowledge of internet marketing I took their advice onboard with no hesitation.
With SEO, they give you a certain number of key phrases and these key phrases are used by people to find my product. Google Maps Gurus recommended certain key phrases, and due to my limited knowledge, I took their advice on board. When one of the key phrases reached page 1, I still hadn’t received one single hit on my website, then I started questioning Google Maps Gurus and begun my own research. Unfortunately for me, Google Map Gurus gave me key phrases that have no search volume and anyone with basic SEO knowledge could rank these key phrases on page 1 in a week. These key phrases were so obscure, no one in their right mind would use them to locate a business such as mine.
After further research, I realised content was needed on my website. Google Maps Gurus, didn’t even do this. WTF!!!!!! To make matters worse, in their fine print, once they hit the page 1 for one key phrase, they then lock you in a 12 month contract with no more guarantees. So I paid $6000 for 1 key phrase on page 1, that no one in their right mind would use.
I tried to reason with Google Maps Gurus management, however they would not respond to my calls or emails. Complaint after complaint, fell on deaf ears. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour, they basically stole my money and did basically no work for it. Shame on you Google Maps Gurus management!
Would I call them Gurus? Absolutely not. I just hope this review helps other newbies to the internet marketing game, make the right decision. Guaranteeing one key phrase in 12 months was my biggest mistake. I feel ripped off and I’m $6000 out of pocket. $6000 to a small business like mine is make or break.
All the best,
Mr Sucker!

Hi Mr Sucker
I have discussed with all the project managers at our company, and we have never had a handyman as a client, and we do not have any clients from Dandenong.
If your complaint is genuine then please provide your real name and website we worked on, and who your project manager was.
Our customer service is something you stand by, and we would never ignore a complaint by anyone.
Awaiting your response to see if your claim is actually genuine.
