Howard Johnson inns and suites scammed by "Higher-class" hotel, Wondering where 100$ that was just previously on my card go , if their is no deposit Vallejo, California

Checking into the Howard Johnson inn I swiped my credit card to make a deposit of 100$ after payin for a room for 2 nights with cash and was told that it will be returned when checking out if their is no stolen or damaged items belonging to the hotel after housekeeping checks the roomSo after cleaningroom i headed downstairs to checkout and was told that they currently do not have cash but will be able to write a check. I prefered cash so i paid for another night in hopes they will have cash.

So the day goes by and i try checking out the next day the man behind the counter says he will have to write a check so I finally agree and he tells me they wont have any checks until 12 so with it already being 11:00 amd having to wait for my ride, I decided to patiently wait. During the wait I was told the deposit cannot be tracked, mind you that a 100$ deposit is required to rent a room. So I ask to speak with the manager and requested to see the hotel's copy of my receipts ,because mine were lost.my request was being ignored.Due to all the frustration I got a lil ill-tempered and was asked to calm down or the police will be called.

So after calming down and trying to be polite and respectful as possible the police was still contacted as if they were trying to make me leave. Not wanting to deal with even more unnecessary stress I grabbed my bags and left so this all happened at 11:00 and it is now 2:45 and I still have heard nothing about the deposit so I have been online researching my situation and have came across this website so far any help will be appreciated and I have also spoke with my friend that refered me to this hotel and found out that he has been being charged 4-500$ just to reserve a room, but i will continue to press the issue until action takes place and i get what is rightfully mines returned
