Bought a car from Carvana of which I'll also be filing a report. Bought car used with only 72000 miles on it. Drove less than 13000 mile, 13 months and engine seized with absolutly no warning. Had knock sensor installed at previous recall which turned out to be about totally useless as it's suppose to put car into limp mode. Engine seized with no warning doing about 65 mile an hour. Almost was rear ended by a tractor trailer. Car was less than 1 month out of an extened warranty with SilverRock. Another company that should be avoided. I'll admit I should have done due diligence as these cars have known engine issues which neither Hyundai or Carvana warned me about. It's been a fight with Hyundai who will not even acknowlede the problem as I continue to fight for a new engine under the class action lawsuit which they have denied more than have approved. They can pretty much deny a repair under a loophole in the class action claiming negligence of maintenance by owner. These cars had a problem with the crank milling process leaving metal shavings in tho oil passages going to the crank bearing. They refuse to take responsibility, instead trying to claim negligence by owner. I feel there should be another class action where Hyundai can't squirm out of engine replacements. I'm now stuck with a 13000 still owed on a car I can't drive. Considering voluntary repo which I don't really want to do as I have decent credit. I see no other way out. I'm a senior citizen and only get social security. I can't save enough money to get another car as I'm already making a car payment for a car I can't drive. Buyer beware. I will never, ever recommend or buy another Hyundai.

When you buy a used car, it is an as-is sale with no warranty. It is your responsibility to get it checked by a mechanic. But your case is even worse, because you drove it for over a YEAR and 12,000 miles! Even if you had a warranty, that is far beyond what it would probably cover. You had it in your care for over a year. You could have mistreated it or failed to maintain it. I can’t believe you even posted this.
