We accessed our credit reports online and found way too many student loans taken out in my husbands name from ITT tech. He only attended 3-4 semesters. He was told it was $2,500 a semester. He left the school because he found the classes were a joke and was misled about the field he wanted to enter. We were ready to start paying down our debts to buy a house. The credit report was shocking. Seven different loans were taken out with a total of $35,558 in debt. He dropped out of ITT Tech last year. I am in graduate school and it is not that much. I started to google this and fining hundreds of complaints. How can we fix this, are there any law suits in motion yet?

There are a couple of things you should do right away.  First, gather up all your own records of what loans were applied for, the amount used for tuition, and any reimbursements of excess funds that came to you.

Then, contact the lender and notify them that the loans you didn't sign for were taken out without your knowledge or consent.

Once you have a true accounting of everything that has happened, send a certified letter to the school, and copy the lender, the accrediting agency, your state department of higher education, and your state's Attorney General.

That might get the ball rolling when the school has to justify how the loans were received by them

Good luck!
