Seriously, RuneScape has got to be the worst MMORPG ever. It was fun when I was in the 4th grade but only because it seemed to be a bit ahead of it's time. And don't even get me started on the company, Jagex, behind it all. If your account gets hijacked, don't even think for a second you will ever get it back. Their solution: "You're welcome to start a new account and continue playing. Thanks for playing RuneScape." Yeah thanks for taking hundreds of dollars of my money over the years only to make me start completely over after 185 days of play hours and thanks for taking well over 4500 hours of my life I will never get back.

 

I am the owner of a 9 year old account with over 185 days worth of playing hours invested in this game. I hadn't had access to it for a few months as I'd been busy with my job. I tried logging in to my account a couple of weeks ago and had to recover the password to my account via e-mail. I tried a second time and found out my account was banned. I then came to learn about the appeals that came from someone other than myself. I then proceeded to e-mail them about my situation and this was their response:

Thanks for contacting us regarding the ban on your account: Sum12oo4.

 

There is a lengthy investigation process that each account must undergo before we ban an account and the same amount of time is spent reviewing an account when an offence appeal has been sent in. We have reviewed the account again since you contacted us and our decision to keep the account banned remains.

 

You are free to continue playing on any other accounts you may own or you can create an account of your own any time.

I decided to give them one more chance and so I used my backup account that had not had very much play time at all. This other account just got banned today for supposedly botting when all I was doing was the same task all night long. Not to mention I just paid $8 for a new membership that I will once again never get back.

This company has let macros take over and because of such, if you do any task for longer than 4 hours at a time, you will lose your account and the money you paid because they will consider you as a "macro".
