We purchased a new home built by JKD Builder/Keith Durio and we have experienced challenges from day one.  We've had issues that needed attention and not once did Keith take ownership of arranging for his subs to come fix the items.  He told us that we'd need to contact the subs ourselves and the only time that he made any effort to come to our home was when he was invited for breakfast.

We have been totally disappointed with our purchase and now that he's building a home next door, we've come to find that he told us about the placement of this new home was a lie.  We had a nice view off our back porch and pre-sale we were told that the future home would not impede our view.  The new home is currently in foundation phase and it's situated much further back than he had indicated.  It appears that he will tell you whatever you want to hear to sell a home but won't support the product after the sale. 

We have found sub-par work throughout our home that he is not willing to correct. Paint was applied to the walls that had no primer and when penetrated, peels from the wall due to improper application.  The negative edge hot tub is leaking and causing foundation issues.  The master tub was installed with foam underneath to support it which negates manufacturer's warranty.  The list goes on and on.

We have had some issues repaired by a limited few of his subs who are willing to stand behind their work, but on the maior issues that really mean something, we're left out in the cold because of his failure to stand behind what he does.  This actually makes no sense in that if a subcontractor performs the work, that sub should be held accountable for their work and have to fix their mistake.  Why wouldn't they provide a warranty for their work? One sub indicated that he had not been paid by the builder. 

Utimately, the buck stops with the builder.  He should be the one to contact and coordinate with the subs, not us.  Most of the subs are asking why we, as the homeowner, are contacting them? His own subs told us that Keith is not available on Wednesdays or Fridays...those are his golf days.   Wonder when he has time to supervise his jobsite?  JKD Builder/Keith Durio has a very poor/non-existent support after the sale. We believe he subscribes to the philosophy of build it cheap, sell it fast and then disappear.
