John Amador has taken thousands of dollars from many customers for no work performed and no parts delivered. Lies, lack of respect for other people, and a complete loss of integrity are the only things we have witnessed over several months.

John Amador moved his shop from one location to another within Austin, Texas in February of 2017 without receiving the proper permits to operate as an auto shop from the City of Austin first before relocating to the new location. This forced him to shut down his business and transfer and hide his equipment somewhere else. I had the unfortunate timing of giving him money on Feb. 22nd while he was in a perfect stage of limbo between his two locations. He has promised to refund me several times over the course of two months, but has never followed through with his word. He has shown no remorse for his constant lying. His latest deadline that he set for himself was April 28, 2017 to refund my money. Again, he did not follow through.

Don't let this man try to start another business under a new name without settling his debts from his failed business. He needs to be held accountable for the thousands of dollars he has stolen from many hard working people.

If you've been defrauded by John Amador, please come forward and submit your information to the above agencies. The more people we have come together, the better our chances will be to recover our stolen funds.

Refund Still Not Received. Judgement Awarded.

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, June 28, 2017

The only person who has slandered John Amador’s name all over is John Amador.  Again, look no further than the complaints filed against him with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Then, read his excuses.

It does not matter what his intentions were; his intentions were wrong. He did not inform me that he did not have the proper permits from the City of Austin to operate as an auto shop in his new building when he took my money.  This was deceptive.

He now has a judgement against him in the amount of $2,900.00 plus $124.50 for court costs (plus post judgement interest at the rate of 5% per annum).

So, yes, until my money is refunded in full, plus the fees noted above, John Amador has stolen money from me.

steal  /stÄ“l/   verb

1. take (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it.

verb: steal; 3rd person present: steals; past tense: stole; gerund or present participle: stealing; past participle: stolen

He did not have a legal right to accept money from me given that he was deceptive about withholding imporant information about the current state of his business, and he has proven that he does not intend to return it after 4 months without a full refund.

Nomad Off-road did not "steal" or take funds without the intentions of completing any work. A bad situation caused forced us to close our doors. Over the years Nomad completed 100s of vehicles, some small jobs and some large jobs. We have had millions of dollars in vehicles in our care. The day we closed the door we turned does a $10k cash job on a Ford Raptor. Honestly all I am trying to do is care for my family and get this mess behind me. There is no reason or cause for me to steal $2,900.00 if I was attempting to steal and fraud people out of money there would of been a lot more opportunities then this. This gentleman has made assumptions and has accused me of lying and has slandered my name all over. We have made attempts to make payments to him and he refuses to come up to an agreement. He spread links about a false criminal police case against myself that is far from the truth. Even in this post he makes assumptions about the situation that he knows nothing about it. We now have pending lawsuit and will let the court decide. Unfortunately, when you close a business there will be people that you will owe money to. I wish this was not the case, I wish Nomad could of withstood the storm and gone on making the 100s of people that we did work for happy, I wish I would not of lost the $100s of thousands of dollars I personally invested. But it is what it is and all we can do is ask for what is fair, pay back the people we owe money to and move on.

No Assumptions, Just the Facts

***UPDATE (5/31/2017)***  In response to John’s rebuttal

If I were the only person with these complaints against John, I would certainly have to humble myself and acquiesce to the story that he presents.  However, I have personally met and talked with 5 other individuals who have all experienced very similar situations as mine with John.  One has to look no further than the complaints filed against him with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) by several other individuals with strikingly similar stories. There are also four additional negative reviews posted on Yelp with similar experiences (2 are hidden and must be expanded due to the low activity of these users on Yelp).

In response to John’s claim stating that “We have made attempts to make payments to him and he refused to come up to an agreement.” — this is completely false and another lie.  John has made no attempt to refund my money and he will have no proof of this. I, on the other hand, have a plethora of text messages with John for two months stating that my refund would be ready on certain dates. He never followed through on his word on any of the dates and many times would avoid contact with me. He has my mailing address and has not sent me any kind of payment toward a refund.  And, what does “he refused to come up to an agreement” even mean?  The agreement was that I gave him $2,900.00 to order parts to be installed on my vehicle by him and his company.  He did not perform any part of the agreement stated in his invoice; therefore, he owes me a full refund.  It’s as simple as that.

Also, there was never a false criminal case reported.  A few of the victims were instructed to contact a specific detective who was initially assigned to a case on this.  The detective determined that this was a civil case and not a criminal case, and he then instructed us to file individual police reports with the Austin Police Department.  (I have email proof of this.)  The information presented on the website that John is referencing was set up to bring other individuals together whom John walked out on and did not contact when he suddenly closed his business.  It gave instructions on whom to contact at the APD and where they should post reviews online regarding their experience with John and Nomad Off-Road.

Unfortunately, John is now choosing to play the victim instead of humbling himself to the fact that he took $2,900.00 from me one week before he closed his business.  He certainly was not honest with me about not having the proper permits from the city in order to be able to perform the work at his shop when he accepted money from me.  This was blatantly deceptive.  Had I known that he was in the middle of a struggle with the City of Austin to try to operate as an auto shop in his new warehouse space, I certainly would not have written him a check the day I met with him in his office to discuss the work to be completed.  I would have walked out and chose a different business with a longer operating history.  Instead, he happily deposited my check the same day it was written (I have proof of this), and then did not contact me two weeks later when the work was supposed to be performed.  Instead, I had to chase him down every step of the way during his business closure and was lied to over and over again about receiving a refund in a timely matter.

Now, John is retaliating against an angry customer with this supposed threat about a slander lawsuit.  I will happily welcome this frivolous lawsuit if it comes my way because the Texas Anti-SLAPP Law will knock it down and quite possibly take punitive measures for his negligence.  John, you can’t silence the “right of free speech” when it is “a matter of public concern.”

There are absolutely no assumptions presented in my review as John claims.  These are valid facts with plenty of evidence to support them.  Now, you as the consumer can decide.

The Facts

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Friday, April 28, 2017

On February 22, 2017, John Amador, owner of Nomad Off-Road LLC, accpeted and deposited a $2,900.00 check from me as a deposit to order off-road parts to be installed on my vehicle by his company. He never received or ordered the parts and he never performed any work on my vehicle. He closed his business a month after he deposited my check and he has not refunded my money.

John has promised to refund me several times over the course of two months, but has never followed through with his word. His latest deadline that he set for himself was April 28, 2017 to refund my money in full. And, again, he did not follow through on his word.
