Do not fall victim to John D'Angelo (a k a John D'Angelo Jr.) and his company, Outdoor Kitchen Outlet (http://okokitchens.com). If you hire him/his company, you'll be setting yourself up for a huge liability if one of the workers he brings in (not staffers, BTW - sub contractors he hires for minimal money) gets hurt while on your job. No Workmans Compensation! Imagine the potential lawsuit you'd be exposing yourself to if one of those workers he hires off the street gets seriously hurt while working on your property (broken wrist, arm, ankle, leg - for example). You could be setting yourself up for potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in liablility.

Please check this guy out! Do not sign a contract without doing complete due diligence! Don't fall into the trap of being complicit with this "fake it till you make it" poser. He is not who he says he is. Ask him about who will be working at your home if you hire him; ask to see his certificates of insurance, documentation of federal tax withholding records for people who work for him, ask to see his business license(s). Ask him why, if he's such a great outdoor kitchen builder, he only has five recommendations in Google reviews. Then ask yourself why you should do business with this man.

Buyer beware! I implore you to find as much background information on this guy and his business as you possibly can.

If anyone actually finds this poorly written “report” and reads it, feel free to give me a call (239)405-0888 and I will be glad to give you some clarity.  My name is John D'Angelo and I own The Outdoor Kitchen Outlet.

This is just a desperate attempt by a child throwing a temper tantrum to make me and my wonderful company look bad.   Rest assured these accusations are hearsay and untrue.  I built this company making sure we do not make the mistakes our competitors make.

We use the best materials available and actually care about our customers.  Our google reviews are organic and NOT PAID FOR.  These are real customers, reviewing our amazing work and their experience working with OKO.  Again, give me a call or text if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a great day!  God bless!

How Would You Know He Has No W/C??

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

The average consumer should expect whoever does the install would be an independent contractor, not an employee of the company.  Expecting that whomever comes to your house to work on the item is an employee seems silly.  Employment costs are way too expensive for that.  The product would cost twice or three times what it does....that's just common sense.

Don't fall into the trap of being complicit with this "fake it till you make it" poser. He is not who he says he is. Ask him about who will be working at your home if you hire him; ask to see his certificates of insurance, documentation of federal tax withholding records for people who work for him, ask to see his business license(s).  Even if I were doing the proper due diligence, I would never ask for the company's tax withholding records (LOL) of his employees, since you already said the guy sends I/C's to the house.

I could not ask as a customer for his company's tax records, since tax records are confidential.  His business license, by law, would be on display at a brick and mortar shop, so I wouldn't need that either.  The only thing as a customer I would want to be assured of is that the I/C's have their own certs because they're supposed to.  The cert would list the levels of liability coverage, as well as the W/C coverage.  Homeowner's coverage then serves as insurance overlap in an accident case, so once I see a cert, then it's fine.

Ask him why, if he's such a great outdoor kitchen builder, he only has five recommendations in Google reviews.  Most people post reviews when they have a complaint - hence a site like Rip Off Report (ROR).  You don't see many reports on ROR claiming everything is great with this company or that person.  If I'm relying on Google, or Yelp, or worse yet - the BBB - for my evaluation as to whether someone is good, then I'm not doing proper due diligence.  I would rely on references, see with my own eyes what other customers have experienced, etc...  I would absolutely not rely on internet reviews...for anything.

This just looks like a hit piece without any evidence you as a consumer actually used them.
