Canyon Meadows Farm and the owner Katrina Schmidt have terrible reviews on this platform and the BBB site as well.  Our puppy was clearly very negelected and abused. As per the previous review(s) she is very fearful and scared. 

All noises scare her and she is uncomfortable walking on harwood floors and going through doorways. Her eyes and teeth are also problems, just as described by another reviewer. How can a little puppy have so many problems? How does a puppy have plaque on her teeth?  She arrived filthy too. The sweet dog had never been bathed. 

She is new to us and have not had a complete health check-up as we want her to be comfortable. We had to take her in to get her eyes looked at.  The vet and, her colleagues and co-workers were heartbroken to see how fearful and traumatized this little pup is.  I only pray that we don't learn about more health problems.

I read about another review who shared that their dog had sever hip dyplasia. I asked about this and was assured hips were okay, but I didn't ask for evidence. Shame on me. I tried kindly reaching out to Katrina. I wanted to get some history so we could help this sweet puppy. I was not accusatory and thought maybe something happened out of her control.

After reading the revews, there seems to be a pattern and this not seem to be a "one off" . This is not a piece for furniture, but a living creature - a pet, a family member. We are not going to return her to what I believe is a house of horrors. After many, many requests, she has still not responded and we expect she never well.  I just want to know more so we can do the best for this pup, who despite being abused is actually very sweet.

Fortunately, we have a very loving family without very young children who could unintentionally spook this pup. And, we have another older pup who has been an absolute angel and snuggles with her.  I have actually taken off work to give this traumatized animal round the clock love and care.  Many families would not be able to do this.  To say our dog is not as advertised is an understatement.  

I feel foolsish for not having checked out Canyon meadows farm and Katrina Schmidt before getting this dog.  As a lifetime dog person, I've never experienced anyting like this and I guess I let my guard down. In my opinion, the dogs at Canyon Meadows farm and any dogs bred by Katrina and Kevin Schmidt should be rescuedby loving individuals or families and they should be prevented from raising dogs or any other animals. 

I love this puppy and I'm glad she is part of our family. But my heart breaks for what she endured in her early life. I only hope that with continued loved and round the clock attention that she will be more comfortable and know that she is loved and can feel safe. I also pray that future health visits do not uncover serious health issues.
