Katy Furniture Withheld Warranty Funds for almost two months Katy Texas

I purchased furniture from Katy Furniture in 2014, along with a five year warranty through Guardsman. I filed a claim in December of 2018 through Guardsman, which was finally resolved in April of 2019. The resolution was to arrange for Katy Furniture to provide me with a credit to either any furniture in their store up to a value of $1099.

The policy as stated by Guardsman is that once the credit is received, Katy Furniture is to contact the customer to advise that the credit has been received and allow the customer 60 days to make a purchase. Guardsman shows that the check for the credit was cashed by Katy Furniture on 5/22 and Katy Furniture failed to contact me concerning the credit at all.

I made multiple visits to their store for assistance and was referred to Guardsman, who only confirmed that they already issued the funds. On 7/3 I received an email that I should come in to use the funds. When I asked about compensating me for the inconvenience and time spent investigating when I should not have had to, Katy Furniture again blamed Guardsman, and refused to do anything.

Had I not called and emailed concerning this, I would have never received the credit, and Katy Furniture would have basically stolen $1099 from me. I have requested Katy Furniture return the credit to Guardsman or send the funds to me, since it is at their discretion at this point, and they refuse to do that or provide any other option, or accept fault.

I have filed a BBB and a FTC complaint, to find out that they are not even accredited. At this point I just want the money so I can make my purchase elsewhere.
