 On September 16, 2014 the company was scheduled to come out to do a tune up on my air conditioning unit for a price of 49.99. The technician called me when he arrived an went on for about 15 minutes of how the A/C unit needed to be replaced. It should be noted that there was nothing wrong with the unit I was just having a cleaning. He went on to say that it would cost 5495.00 for a new unit. He said the unit was down 2lbs of freon and that there was another part (electrical) that needed to be replaced. After speaking with another A/C company who went out at the same time he informed me that the unit was fine, although a little old it worked just fine and the cost for a new unit would be 2400.00. I received a call back from the technician who told me that i owed him over 300.00 dollars and that he put 3lbs of freon in the a/c unit at 79.00 a lb plus a 89.00 labor charge. I asked him to send me an invoice, he asked for my email and i provided it to him. I was waiting for the bill so i could review it, he called me back demanding that i give the office a credit card to pay the bill,I told him that i never received the bill. At this point he had left the condo and finished what ever he was doing. During the time I was on the phone with him the office was calling me on the other line, they left me a message. About 15 minutes later i received a call from my tenant informing me that the technician had come back and turned off the air conditioner unit and said that he was instructed by the owner not to turn it on until they got a credit card. I should tell you that my tenant is 75 years old, lives by herself and has health issues and the temps were in the 80'S. I called the office to speak with the owner who was not there. The following day he called me and wanted payment. Iasked for him to send me a bill either email to me or mail it to me. He refused and told me that when you go to McDonalds they dont give you a bill you pay for your meal and leave. He went on to say that "so you are refusing to pay?" I said no i never said that i would like a bill to show the work performed, he said "we don't do that so you are refusing to pay?. I said no send me a bill. He then threatened me and said "ok you are refusing to pay so i am going to take a lien out against your property". I said "Let me repeat myself I am not refusing to pay send me a bill".  Mind you that he never apologized for turining off the a/c unit or did he have any concerns for my tenant. I told him again to send me a bill and he said no i am taking a lien out on your property. It should be noted that I do not even know how much the bill was for. After dealing with him the owner i would feel comfortable giving him my credit card information any way so i told him again to send me a bill and i would send out a check. He said he was putting a lien on my property and hung up.

Air Conditioner working fine

I am not going into everything i wrote last year but I thought everyone would like to know that my air conditioning unit has been working fine with no problems. The technician from Kenmark Air said that the unit was on its way out and probably would not last the week, that was over a year ago back in September 2014 and its still running strong. I guess it goes to show you what kind of company Kenmark Air is they are just trying to rip people off. A good lesson learned is if you use them get a second or third opinion before letting them tell you your a/c unit needs to be replaced. Its coming up on 14 months since they told me I needed a new unit and like I said the unit in running fine with no issues. Beware of Kenmark Air
