This company is a scam, and now I'm to the point where I'm leaving a review of my latest interaction, reporting them to BBB, as well as adding them to this site. I purchased a backpack with a Klarna installment plan, then I returned the backpack. The purchase was paid for in full to Klarna. I still don't have my money (over $100) that was returned to them from The North Face.

Not only that, Klarna has not responded since the end of December when they told me they were "waiting for a response from The North Face until January 5th" --why I'm not sure since the other agent Dhananjay told me The North Face finally refunded the money to a Klarna account at the end of November. Everything works great with this company while you're giving them money. But they apparently have a problem returning funds.

Now I can't get into my account. It sends me a verification code to my e-mail, but the next step (both via the app and desktop browser) that sends a code to my phone fails. I don't have time to deal with this stuff, I'm a comp. eng. student with a completely full schedule. This is one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. I've been trying to get my refund money since September 2021. They keep saying to e-mail them and they will help but they never do. They give me the run-around and keep telling me to contact The North Face and sending me the SAME exact e-mail instead of answering my questions.

Klarna escalations e-mail literally states: "We have been in touch with The North Face, and they informed us that you were refunded as a special service to Klarna Visa ending in ****  in the amount of $188.59" The North Face refunded the full amount of the sale (instead of just the cost of the backpack I returned) to a Klarna Visa, and when I responded to the e-mail and asked when I was going to receive the amount that was given to Klarna, they sent the same e-mail -- over and over and over again.

Finally I contacted customer service again hoping to get a new escalations agent. Customer support ticket ended up sending me to the same "escalations agent" Dhananajay. They sent me the same exact e-mail from before when I clearly listed the issue as not receiving my money from Klarna, not from The North Face. I left a review on Trust Pilot, they responded with a generic response to contact them at hello@klarna.com, they never contact me unless I contact them first asking what the status is.

They keep telling me I can contact The North Face also even though I said the issue is apparently that Klarna received the funds since The North Face returned the original form of payment instead of to a gift card like I asked. The North Face was also given a poor review for their horrible customer service but that's a separate story.

Klarna FINALLY refunded my money 6 months after the product was returned. After multiple requests for support, multiple bad reviews given to them, they finally decided they should refund my money. It only took me reporting them twice on Trust Pilot, once on G2, once here, and to the BBB.

For a company to give me such a hard time over a measly $100 shows what a mess they are. A lot of people probably would have given up by now or forgot - and that's how these horrible companies work.
