Legionnaire Insurance Trust LIT AGIA My Father died in the VA hospice on September 12th 2012. Asmall but comforting attribute was the knowledge that Legionnaires fInsurance was going to pay my mother a very highly needed $50 per day for Phoenix, Arizona

After the passing of my father we proceeded to contact Legionnaire with our claim. My Mother was to receive $50.00 a day for every day that my father was in the VA Hospital.    First off it took the VA Hospital in Louisville from September the 23rd till February the 12th to fill out a simple discharge summary and fax it to them.  Once it was received by the Legionnaire Insurance Trust by a representative named Danette it was read back to my sister and told that it was all there and we would see a check in 7 to 10 business days. Again at 6:00pm on about the 26th of February my sister was told again that it was all there and the paperwork was good. The next morning a young lady named Yolanda said that there was paperwork missing and then they said it was there but had to be reviewed. After countless phone calls I was told by Courtney that it had to be reviewed and that she could not discuss it with me unless I was Power of Attorney, I told her I was and she said I would have to fax it to her, I immediately called my sister in Louisville and she faxed over my P.O.A. to two fax numbers. I called them back to verify they received the fax.  Yolanda informed me that they had received the fax and I told her that I had already talked to Courtney (who told me the review would be complete in 24 to 48 hours of which they had already had it for 24, so I said I would call back on the 1st of March to find out when the check will be sent.) !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lo and Behold I now speak with Danette again and she tells me that it had been denied due to the fact it does not cover Hospice!!!! I told her that the Hospice was in the VA hospital and he was moved there from the 4th floor CCU. She then said that she resent it and was not saying that it would not be paid, at this point I asked to speak with a Supervisor and was handed off to Brian G. who informed me that they did not know what dates DAD HAD BEEN IN THE CCU OR HOSPICE AND i SAID THEY HAD THE SUMMARY DISCHARGE AND The dates are on it. He said the policy does not cover Hospice and I would have to fax over something else from VA with separate dates for E.R. CCU and hospice.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At this point we are fed up with Legionnaire Insurance and I am appalled that our American Legion backs this product and they are allowed to treat the widows of our VETS and their families this way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
