I received a letter and a check in the mail from the above named company.. They informed me that I was selected as a secret shopper and all I had to do was activate the check enclosed which was for 1997.00. They had these "secret shopper assignments" they wanted me to complete. Well the check was fake and now the bank wants me to pay them back. I do not have a job and do not know what to do... Can someone please help me  out and tell me my next step.

Please and thank you

Faith Jackson

Make payments

You will never get your money back as you have wired it to a scammer, most likely in Canada, Eastern Europe or Nigeria.  I am sorry that people continue to fall for this scam when there are thousands, literally thousand of stories about this scam all over the internet.

It's also well-covered on local and national news stations. All you can do is go to the bank and explain what hapopened and your situation and that you can only slowly make payments. Future going, if it sounds to good to be true, it is. No one in their right mind would send a valid check to a stranger and entrust them not run off with the money.

Think about it. You might want to check around this site and do a search at yahoo and google to familiarize yourself with other active scams currently going on.  I would give you some sites to check out, but this website does not allow links to be posted. Good luck.
