LADWP Stole Extra Money By Allowing My Recent January 2022 Bill To Double Bill Because Of An Existing Leak That They Knew About From The Beginning!

Monday, January 17th, 2022

Mr. Martin L. Adams, General Manager And Chief Engineer
LOS ANGELES DEPARTMENT OF WATER AND POWER
111 North Hope Street  Suite #1550
Los Angeles, California  90012
(800) 342-5397

Regarding:  Very Serious Complaint!

Dear Mr. Martin L. Adams:

Back in December of 2020, I received a very disturbing phone call from one (1) of your male employees alerting me of a Leak In My Home and That My Bill Is Almost Double!

For Your Information:  The person on the phone just told ME that he was going to send somebody to come out to Read The Meter and just gave ME the Case I.D. # 1610719116.  However, when he supposedly came out there he obviously had Absolutely No Plans, Nor Intentions To Assist Me With Crediting Back This Extra Money That You Had Stolen From ME!

Basically, the person who came out is Trained To Protect And Defend The Los Angeles Department Of Water And Power By Stating That It Is Not Their Fault And They Did Nothing Wrong, When In Fact They Did!

For Your Information:  I have been out of the country for over a year taking care of my 90 year old mother who is currently suffering from a Prolapsed Bladder, Heart Condition, Low Blood Circulation In Both Of Her Legs, Along With Arthritis In Both Of Her Knees Which Affects Her Mobility.

Furthermore, I had absolutely No Idea Of Any Leak In My Home since I am Not Even There, but regardless, your company is Negligent because Your Representative Waited Until After The Bill Was Going Out To Finally Tell Me That I Have A Leak That Needs To Be Fixed In Order For Your Company To Make Extra Money For Your Pockets!

You have a Filthy And Disgusting Way Of Conducting Your Business and I also happen to also be On The Lifeline/Care Plan as well!

In Addition:  One Of Your Employees Whom Phoned Me Back In December Of 2021, Willfully Knew Right From The Beginning Of The Billing Cycle That Something Was Wrong, But Purposely And Deliberately Failed and/or Refused To Notify Me In A Fast And Timely Manner Which Is Actually Negligence On Your Part Which Ended Up Costing Me Almost Double Than What I Would Normally Pay In Electricity And Especially Water Which Has Never Happened Before!

As Soon As I Was Notified Which Was At The Very End Of The Billing Cycle, I Immediately Took Action From Abroad And Hired A California Licensed Plumbing Company Called "Cali Rooter & Plumbing, Inc." (818) 331-5842  Back on Monday, January 3rd, 2022 and paid $700.00 to take care of all of the leaks!

Moving Right Along:  Since Your Company Is Very Negligent In Not Notifying The Customer Right Away Of An Extreme Leak Since Ladwp Knew Something Was Wrong From The Very Beginning Since You Obviously Saw And Detected A Very High Increase In The Water Bill Way Before I Knew About It, Then The Right And Honest Thing To Do Is To Give Me A Generous Credit Right Back To My Account Since This Was Not My Fault And My Bills Are Never This High!

I think that the Bill Should Be Either Fully Credited Back To My Credit Card and/or At Least Divided In Half Which Is More Than Fair!

In Addition:  I had to Hire A Licensed Plumber to repair this damage on top of it and I feel that I have Financially Suffered More Than Enough While Your Very Rich Company And Executives Profit!

Moving Right Along:  Back on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, I did speak to Mr. James Jones, Customer Relation Office Special Investigator (800) 499-1544 x53470 & Email:  CustomerRelationsOffice@ladwp.com who is beyond Rude, Inconsiderate, Controlling And Selfish, Plus A Complete As*hole!  He spoke over ME during the Conversation and would Not Let Me Get A Word In and In The End, he Refused To Accept Any Responsibility Which Is How This Disgusting Company Operates and Offered ME No Credit, Period!
I am Now Publishing Negative Reviews On All Social Media Websites which include:  Google Maps, Facebook, Twitter, SiteJabber, ConsumerAffairs, RipOffReport and the Better Business Bureau and have Already Disputed The Charges With My Credit Card Company because this is Fraud!

Enclosed, in the attachments, below, please find the Proof That I Paid And Hired A California Licensed Plumber for your reference and further review.  Thank You.   If I Could Change Utility Providers, Then I Would! I Hate The Los Angeles Department Of Water And Power!  A Huge Scam And RipOff And They Can Amazingly Get Away With Anything!   Thank you.

Sincerely yours,

Howard Paul Shore Angry And Very Pissed Off Los Angeles Department Of Water And Power Customer Since 2008   /HPS Enclosures:  Please See The Attachments For Copies Of The Proof That I Had Paid And Hired A California Licensed Plumber For Your Reference And Further Review.  Thank You.

PS:  Final Thoughts:  Final Thoughts:  Los Angeles Department Of Water And Power Is Trained To Scam Their Customers And Not Assist Them And It Shows!

Your Leak, Your Accountability

AUTHOR: coast - (United States)

POSTED: Sunday, January 30, 2022

The utility company contacted you with a complimentary notification. You were billed appropriately.

You should be angry with the inattentive person whom you entrusted to care for your house while you were away.

A homeowner is responsible for leaks on their side of the water meter.
