I recently took my car to Mark Bazarsky, owner of All Automotive in Belleview, Florida to have some repairs done to the transmission. I recieved my car back from him a few days later (11/02/09) after he was very insistent on replacing the clutch which I have never had any issues with previous to entering his shop. Upon recieving the car back and leaving his shop, myself and the two other individuals that were also with me in dropping the car off noticed the clutch slipping badly at which point I called him immediately (2 miles down the road at most). Mark stated that it was oil on the clutch and it would stop slipping after it burnt off. I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt and continued home only to overheat 3 times due to a hose (which I never had so much as a small leak from) that was completely pulled from a plastic coupler, and i also noticed at this point that my heat shield which has nothing to do with the transmission was left loose under my hood rattling in addition to the power cable for my stereo amplifier being completely pulled from my battery terminal. I was aggravated but decided to just fix the hose myself, reconnect the power cord, and replace the heat shield. After re-connecting the power source for my stereo amplifier I turned on my stereo to notice the amplifier was blown and my stereo was on 98 rock, a station I don't listen to. Still yet I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt and considered maybe he just blew a fuse and decided before I contacted him I would check all fuses. Nevertheless, the clutch issue calmed down a bit however it continued to slip. I chose to wait a few more days to see if it would indeed subside.

Four days after recieving my car from Mr. Bazarsky's shop, myself and my roommate were running some errands and the transmission began to grind heavily in addition to very hard shifting. I called Mark immediately at his shop and notified him at which point he told me I would have to wait until Monday because his shop was going to be closed for the weekend. In amazement that he answered the phone at his shop and chose to tell us we would have to wait my roommate and I parked the car in a Walgreen's parking lot and had friends come to get us after notifying the manager of the establishment that my car would be there a couple days. I began missing work and school on account of this.

Monday morning I began calling the shop and being told Mark wasn't there, leaving messages for him to call me back, and all attempts proving fruitless. On Wednesday (11/11/09) I finally made contact with Mark at which point I told him of the incident, at which point he chose to claim it was the clutch causing the issues in addition to raising his voice and becoming very ignorant at my inquiring if anything had happened that may have caused the amplifier to blow a fuse. I was insulted and accused of not having working equipment upon entering the shop (I have insurance on this equipment, so there is no need for me to worry, I was just curious at this point what could have happened). In his display of ignorance and very poor customer service skills, plus my personal knowledge that the clutch was not the issue at this point regardless of it's slipping since leaving his shop, I chose to seek the input of another shop. After some searching I found a shop that was very highly recommended in the area with very good reviews and had them tow my car in for a diagnostic at which point they found the transmission was falling out of 3rd gear but it may be due to the shift rod assembly. I replaced the shift rod assembly and the car was ok for about another week when it began grinding again.

The transmission began grinding again on 11/27/09 upon my being dropped off to work at 5 a.m., and I noticed the crack in the transmission case that was to be fixed was still leaking. I called Mark again and left a message for him to call me back, but had to continue to call throughout the day to get ahold of him at which point I notified him of the situation and of the leak I had found, was told once again he was going out of town for the weekend and I would have to wait until Monday to have him come get the car. The car sat in the parking lot of my work until the following Wednesday (12/02/09) when I finally got him to retrieve the car after many ignored phone calls and messages, and finally having someone else call in my place he returned the call to them quite promptly not knowing it was on behalf of myself. The car was in his shop for another couple of days before he called me on Friday to ask in a very rude manner why I had him bring the car to his shop, claimed it was driving just fine, and accused me of having a new clutch put in. I explained about the grinding and the continuing slipping of the clutch, plus the leak in the casing he was supposed to fix. He said to come drive it myself, it was fine. I said I would be there shortly, he changed his mind and said he was leaving soon so not to bother.

I came to his shop the following morning with my roommate, her mother and her grandfather to check out the car. Mark chose to take them for a test drive while I was in the bathroom, and upon their returning the grinding had subsided. He continued to swear up and down that I had a new clutch put in as if to imply that someone else had been working on the car in the area of the transmission and clutch. "I've been working on cars since '84 so I know a new clutch when I feel one. That's a new clutch and I don't care what you say." He had us take the car on the grounds that if it were left there for him to bother with further, it was going to be used to run for parts. I did not agree with that type of use of my vehicle so we took it. He denied that there was any possibility that the grinding could be a hit or miss type of issue. He stated that "It either is or it isn't, nothing in there is going to grind one minute and then not grind the next." I also informed him that I had changed the shift rod assembly to eliminate that possibility and was told "I don't care what you did with the shift rod assembly, that don't have sh*t to do with the clutch, and that's a new clutch." Basically I was being called a liar and an inconvenience.

The grinding had subsided once again until 12/15/09 when it began grinding heavily and hard shifting, however now it would grind, subside for a moment, then begin grinding again. I called Mark, told him the issue, and was told "Drive it by then." as if he were not going to waste his gas to tow it in. It is not smart at all to drive a car with a grinding transmission anywhere, much less thirty miles to his shop. At this point I decided that I was no longer going to allow him any more opportunities to rectify any fualty workmanship he had performed on my car as he had already wasted every opportunity given with insults, excuses, and ignorance, and that I would take it to the shop that I had on the last occasion I sought the input of another mechanic.

I brought my car to the new mechanic on 12/17/09 and upon beginning to test drive it immediately heard and recognized the grinding noise. They took the car into their shop and pulled the transmission off to find less than half of a pint of the worng kind of fluid in it, plus the spline shaft had been free spimming inside the pilot bearing of the clutch which caused the clutch to wear out. Now my transmission and my clutch are shot adn i have missed hundreds of dollars and many days at work, several days of class in all five of my courses, and I now have over $1000.00 in damage to my transmission and clutch.

I had the new shop print out a full assessment of the damages and what was wrong with the car and called Mark Bazarsky as of Monday, December 28th (I was nice enough to let him have a care free Christmas) to inform him of the issues. I told Mark that my car was in another shop because i felt it was necessary to get another shop's professional input, and I told him what they had found and asked what we were going to do about the situation. He chose to tell me that he was not liable for the transmission or the clutch and I was crazy if I thought he was going to pay the other shop to fix what he had damaged. At this point I had asked him what "nec's" were being that it was what he listed on the reciept that he charged me for the first occasion. he replied it meant "necessary parts to fix the transmission" and couldn't tell me exactly what parts he had to order. He also continued to say that he told me I needed a new clutch because "the clutch material was all ground up in the bell housing" when he had the transmission off. There was no such issue noted by the new mechanic as the pilot bearing being trashed by the free spinning spline shaft was the issue, not clutch material in the bell housing. He continued to make it clear that he would not be held liable for any of it and that I was crazy if I thought different, so I chose to inform him that since I was not getting anywhere with him then I would begin making phone calls and writing letters. He got a very deep and ominous tone of voice as if to try and intimidate me and said "Don't you ever try to threaten me you little b*tch." and hung up on me.

So now very aggravated and annoyed I called him back immediately only for him to answer the phone talking trash, saying I have things twisted if I think i can threaten him and I don't hold any weight and I don't make the calls. I informed him that it was not a threat, that I would be doing everything humanly possible to ensure he could no longer victimize people in this manner, and that I have been more than patient with him the entire time he has done nothing but insult my intelligence and cause me problems. He then tells me that if I continue to call his business it is stalking and hung up on me once again.

During this ordeal with this individual I had also performed some public records searches and discovered he may be operating this business solely on the filing of the fictitious name. I also discovered this may be the same man (almost positive) that had previously opened a shop in 2001 only for it to dissolve 18 months later in late 2002 due to failure to pay taxes, and he has had a number of civil suits filed against him (one pending). I also have a firm doubt that he is ASE Certified although he advertises it, being that none of his behavior has warranted an ASE Certified Professional. If by some fluke he is, then he is giving ASE Certified Professionals a bad name. I believe that this man may be operating a very fraudulent business and his credentials for operating such a business have seriously come under question. These are my beliefs given my discoveries thus far as I am currently investigating further. If anyone has any advice or information to aid me in my search for justice please feel free to reply. Thank you.
