A Brentwood-based real estate figure owes more than $13.4 million after defaulting on a series of loans, according to a lawsuit.

Bank of Nashville, a local division of Synovus Financial Corp. of Columbus, Ga., filed suit Monday against Murfreesboro Edge-O-Lake and Mark Marshall, who signed as a personal guarantor on loans taken out in 2006, 2007 and 2009. The bank declared him in default this month, according to the suit.

Marshall, who has a real estate company in Brentwood, could not be immediately reached for comment. He is the registered agent of Murfreesboro Edge-O-Lake, which is listed as a property on Murfreesboro Pike in Nashville.

 Mark Marshall a Brentwood Tennessee based real estate figure owes more than $13.4 million after defaulting on a series of loans, according to a lawsuit.

Bank of Nashville, a local division of Synovus Financial Corp. of Columbus, Ga., filed suit against Mark Marshall of Brentwood, Tennessee Monday and against Murfreesboro Edge-O-Lake and Mark Marshall, who signed as a personal guarantor on loans taken out in 2006, 2007 and 2009. The bank declared Mark Marshall in default this month, according to the suit.

Mark Marshall, who has a real estate company in Brentwood, TN and in Murfreesboro Tennessee could not be immediately reached for comment. Mark Marshall of Brentwood, TN is the registered agent of Murfreesboro Edge-O-Lake, which is listed as a property on Murfreesboro Pike in Nashville. Mark Marshall may have made no attempt to honor his obligation. His local business conduct is a reflection of how he has treated people historically in Brentwood, TN, Franklin, TN and Murfreesboro TN.
