Marvin L. Hennen - Attorney at Law, Doesn't keep clients best interest in mind - Richfield, Minnesota

I went through the bankruptcy process last year. Since I didn't know the process, I foolishly trusted my attorney to keep my best interest in mind. The main reason we filed for bankruptcy was the fact that we were moving out of state and we couldn't sell our condo. It was worth much less than we owed. He excluded the condo from the bankruptcy because he said it would make him look bad if he didn't. I had to continue to pay association dues as well as property taxes for a year while paying rent in another state. Over a year later, and I'm still owner of this foreclosing property in a different state. Just this week, I found out that my car was included in the bankruptcy, when I had specified that I couldn't lose my car and wanted it excluded. I don't believe my best interests were kept in mind during this process. I would highly recommend finding an attorney that will listen to what you have to say and give you what you need not what looks good on paper. Bankruptcy was a scary and embarrassing process for me, and I have had constant reminders for the past year and a half. If Marvin had listened to me and what I wanted, this all would have been over with over a year ago. But, I still don't know when it will all be over.
