Payment processing company, MBL Media LTD, puts itself between me and my State's DMV so to be employed to pay DMV fees. The DMV fee was just as easily paid at the DMV. I think this only worked because I was unfamiliar with my State's DMV website.
The company charges a $40 service fee and a $5 payment processing fee in addition to the fee owed at the DMV. They are not classically PISHING. They didn't contact me. They used prioritzed web search results to get to me.
While typing a web-address, to a browser address bar a list of completions is suggested. Selecting a suggestion that is the apparent completed web address resulted in a search result, not entry of that selected web address. This began the misdirection. It turned out my State's DMV wasn't in the top search results. One of the top results in my case was MBL Media’s website. MBL Media’s websites do not primarily make obvious that the website is not affiliated with a DMV.
The company’s websites, of which I am aware, are:
https://californiacarreg.com
https://floridacarregistration.com
https://newjerseycarregistration.com
https://northcarolinacarregistration.org
https://texascarregistration.org
https://pennsylvaniacarregistration.org
https://virginiacarregistration.org
https://www.washingtoncarregistration.org
THERE ARE OTHER COMPANIES OPERATING IN A SIMILAR FASION
https://texasdriverscenter.com the company name is obfuscated
These companies need to make clear presentation through appearance of their web site that they are not a State DMV and are not affiliated.

I wouldn't have minded paying the steep concierge fee to keep from having to go to the DMV myself during this pandemic, but since I have not recieved my registration sticker over 10 business days after using their site and having seen reports of similar experiences, I think it's safe to say this whole operation is a fraud.

Every one of the websites you listed clearly state that the sites are privately owned and are not part of any government agency. Perhaps you should learn to read before you jump.

Websites like californiacarreg.com should inherently alert the view that they are not a DMV

A quick view of californiacarreg.com should inherently inform the viewer that they concierge a DMV and are not a DMV. Instead the operator of the web site only clearly discloses this fact in a popup that appears after the viewer clicks on a button to use the website's DMV like service.
A viewer intending to use their DMV and clicking on the button has bought into the idea that the site is their DMV.

I've NEVER been to their website before however...WITHIN FIVE SECONDS...I saw and READ the VERY OBVIOUS disclaimer which TOLD YOU in PLAIN LANGUAGE they were NOT affiliated with ANY government body!!! Oh, but it's all their fault, right?
These places continue to exist because people like you fail to use COMMON SENSE to READ what you are agreeing to and with whom you are dealing with! You people keep it up! I love pointing out STUPIDITY!
