Meetup Inc Meetup.com Fraudulently Sets up Accounts and Withdraws Money without Authorization New York New York

Company set up an account without proper autorization or confirmation. When it was discovered two payments of $72 had been withdrawn from the account. When a log in attempt was made using multiple business addresses and personal addresses, a log in attempt could not be completted. When a personal email address finally had a hit, the passwords associated with that email did not open the account. A Reset Password request was sent but was never received.

The only way to contact this company for resolution is through an online contact us form. I received a general response that can take up to 36 to respond. Well isn't that convinient?

Finally received a response from a representative who also said my account couldn't be located based on the list of 5-10 email addresses that I sent. She had to resort to finidng my account via my payment method.

They refused to provide information on when the account was set up, who set it up, if any other charges had been made etc. Then finally they said they sent an email with that information to the email that was used to set up the account. I didn't get the email. So I sent another requesting DEMANDING for the info. I didn't receive it for another HOUR! I still don't know if my personal email was really the email used to set up the account.

In that email they finally admitted that it was a 2nd charge of $72 made in September of 2014. I requested a refund for both amounts. They refused beecause "it had been more than 30 days..."

OF COURSE! I couldn't even log in! How the hell would I know about an account, if I can't even FIND it based on my email addresses??? I would have no idea. Thank God I noticed the charges coming out of my account or they probably would have just kept charging me for an account that was never even used or accessed!

RIPOFF!
