Melissa Bryan Can Chaser Kate Disrupting internet forums I administered Arroyo Seco New Mexico

I first became aware of Melissa Bryan AKA Can Chaser Kate back around 2002. At that time I was active in the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting and a member of the largest league in that sport SASS the Single Action Shooting Society. It was on their website the SASS wire where I first encountered her. I also moderated and administered several shooting sports related websites at that time.

I was never very active on the SASS wire forum I read more than I posted. I did respond to one of her posts on  geneology research in which she had listed a group of surnames she was researching. As it so happened one of those surnames also happened to be one I was researching so I sent her a private message regarding the surname. She responded almost immediately. During the exchange she had asked for my email address was it ever a mistake giving it out to her as I began to receive spam advertising fixtures for rodeo event arena's from a company in Arizona.

As it turns all of the people with the surname I was researching were located in different parts of the country than those she was researching, none of my people had any connection with her people, and I stated this in my response to her. I thought it pretty bizarre that she started reffering to me as her dearest cousin in the message exchange on that site after I had informed her that we were not related based on the geneology info she had posted in her message.

At that time she was still fairly new to that forum and I hadn't been many of her postings which became more and more bizzare. She began making posts claimg to be related to just about every famous or infamous person who ever lived including many old west outlaws, former US presidents and hollywood actors.

Not long after she posted about having obtained an event arena and going into the business of renting the facility out for events such as weddings, concerts etc...  One photo she posted showed her and her husband standing in the facility next to a cardboard cutout of a famed country music singer. The way they were posing with the lifesized cardboard cutout appeared as though they wanted people to believe that they were standing next to the celebrity in real life.

At about this same time she posted on the SASS wire that she and her husband were hiring people to work at this facility. By this time many of the people on that forum were beginning to react very negatively to her many outrageous postings and it wasn't long afterward that she disappeared from that site. I had pretty much determined that she was someone with some serious mental issues and never given her much thought until she showed up on one of the forum sites I administered.

As soon as I saw her register on that site I gave the site staff a heads up regarding her behavior on the SASS wire. One of the other admins decided to have some fun with her and began to inquire about booking a wedding at her arena facility, their inquiry was met by a whole series of excuses. I'd always figured that she posted this sort of thing like the imaginary event arena for attention and to make herself look successful and important. I wasn't aware of them actually hiring anyone and always figured the arena was a product of her imagination.

She did begin to become very disruptive on our forum site, particularly in a subforum dedicated to old west history and began posting a lot of ridiculous claims of being the reincarnated wife of Billy the kid, and being related to all the well known old west outlaws. She also began posting the psychic, ghostbusters nonsense.

We decided to adjust her account settings in such a way that only she could see her posts. With no responses to her posts she became bored and left the site. She did aeempt a comeback at one point but we discouraged her from sticking around. I'm convinced that she is someone who is seriously mentally ill and, as such I don't really understand why some of the posts made regarding her here and on other sites contain the ammount of venom that they do.
