In November of 2016, Mark Jarrell, Property Manager of Merriam Gateway Apartments, showed me an apartment, leased me that apartment, and accepted my security and rent payments. In December of 2016, my wife and I moved into the unit and received another copy of the lease signed by Christopher Figueiredo's as a second landlord.Mr. Figueiredo is the company's Emergency Contact in Merriam Gateway Apartments Lease.

In 2017, my wife agreed to refinish the common deck at no charge to landlords because the deck had become unsightly. After my wife began work, she and I observed Mr. Figueiredo filming her every move while zooming in and out. I immediately advised Mr. Figueiredo that his voyeurism is a privacy violation. Mr. Figueiredo attempted to hide his camera phone and deny his filming, however Mr. Figueiredo questioned my wife about various parts of her body later when I was not around.

Later in 2017, some people repeatedly harassed, intimidated, and detained my wife while depositing trash into the common dumpster. I sent Mr. Jarrell and Mr. Figueiredo a Cease And Desist Letter. In response, the company's lawyer, John Breslin, sent me a Notice Of Trespass, threatened to have my wife and I arrested, threatened to tow our vehicles, and increased our rent.

I promptly filed a NJ Civil Rights small claim in the Sussex County Superior Court on behalf of the State. Judge Philip Maenza erroneously dismissed the case, advising that I was not entitled to file on behalf of the State, despite the NJ Civil Rights Act specifically allowing private individuals to do so. I filed a complaint with the NJ Supreme Court, and Judge Maenza was subsequently removed from the bench.

At the present time in April of 2020, the company, Mr. Jarrel, Mr. Figueiredo, and Mr. Breslin are working on their fifth (5th) retaliatory eviction lawsuit against my wife and I. So far, another judge has dismissed any prior attempt.

During this COVID-19 National Disaster, Mr. Figueiredo has also attempted to terminate my lease, yet he simultaneously increased our rent by 200% of his first retaliatory increase. To date and to my knowledge, none of these scammers have been investigated despite my repeated reports to authorities.

I have a large amount of hardcopy and electronic evidence. The company actually conspired with the Newton Police Department to have me interrogated regarding the above matter. As the Chief of Police was replaced, I now have videos of that interrogation. I am 100% open to this website's Arbitration offer if any of the above parties come around to doing so.
