1. Before Ultrasound test, they told me the total price after my blue cross blue shield insurance was $74. But later it turned out they billed me for $2058.75 and the price became $1142.09 after insurance. I think they broke the contract law rests on the centuries-old concept of “mutual assent,” in which both sides agree to a price before services are rendered.

2. When I requested the itemized bill, I found they did extra analytical procedure duplex analysis, composing main cost of the bill, in which they claimed it was medically necessary. My doctor office did not the that specific procedure.

3. My doctor order the exact same order in another hospital this year. There is no extra analytical procedure (duplex analysis) performed. With same exact insurance, the price after BCBS is $55 exactly as what I quoted before the second service.

4. They broke the mutual contract law, otherwise I could have rights to choose other hospital to do the test with cheaper price for such a simple ultrasound test.

1. My doctor sent me to have ultrasound test at Metro Health Hospital. This is not regular office visit, no co-pay things. They asked $74 dollar after checking my BCBS card and told me that's the total price of this exam.

2. I contact BCBS they told me they have max. allowance of $100 something for the exam or test (physician & profession fee), the rest of FACILITE FEE, the major part,  is not fell into max. allowance.

3. I am at HSA, ,meaning before the deductable meets, I will pay full amount of the contracted/negotiated/discounted price between BCBS and provider.  $55 from Spectrum Hospital and $1142 from Metro Health Hospital are full amount of that price before my deductable meets.

4. The Metro health visit was last year October 2018. After they told me acceptable total price of $74 after insurance, I didn't bother to find other lower price. The Second ultrasound with Spectrum Hospital was done half an year later, April 2019. After I received surprise bill of $1142 from Metro health, for the second same ultrasound, I decided to find other hospital to do it at reasonable price. ( Two quotes from two hospitals: $55 $60).

5. If they told me it would cost $1142, I would turn around right away and have chance to call other facilities. I lost almost $1100, which is big financial burden for me. And most importantly, I have great chance and RIGHTs to avoid.

Did you sign a contract with them for the copay?? If not then your report is mute. They gave you a quote not a contract for payment. Contact BCBS about this because sounds like you had a deductable that had not been made. And NO I do not work for them but had BCBC at one time and had to pay upfront fees for a procedure that I later found out was covered which I received my money back.

And if the other facility was cheaper then how come you did not go there???
