Went to Midas today after calling yesterday and being told that there is a "Special" on brake service going on right now. I needed ceramic brake pads on the front of my car. I asked the representative if there were any hidden fees or if it mattered as to what kind of car, she said no, this is for "any" car. I asked if I needed to make an appointment, she said "no" the hours are from 7:30 to 6:00 and you can come in at any time. I verified this information twice and got her name. This special is for "Premium ceramic front brake pads with a lifetime warranty".

We took our Mercedes in for the brake job this morning. When we walked in, I told the manager what I was there for and she asked me who gave me "that" price. I gave her the representative's name. The person was actually standing right next to her and verified that she had given me that information yesterday. My husband told them that we bought two cars so that we could run errands while the car was being done, and to not call us with statements that "this is broken and that is broken" because we just had it inspected the day before and the only thing needed was front brake pads. She assured me that they wouldn't. We weren't 2 miles away when we got the first of 6 calls. The brake special was not for ceramic pads, even though the representative said it was. Call 2- Dont have ceramic brake pads for a Mercedes. Call 3- Can't honor the $139.99 amount, Sorry. Call 4- the brake pads have to be installed with a special sensor that will make the bill go up to $344.00. Call-5-Sorry, the same representative looked at the wrong part and the sensors are only $3.18 each Call-6 the sensors and brake pads have to be delivered to their location.

After 4 hours, two sets of brake pads because they got the wrong size the first time, and $188.00, we left vowing to never go there again!

Sounds like a good deal

Just a bit of honestly being in the industry for 15 plus years, for what you paid, and what you received, you got away dirt cheap and I am surprised it was just pads and a sensor, $188 for Mercedes price is a third of a typical Mercedes brake job.
