Midtown Moving & Storage, Inc. Owner, Willy Tomlin Due to an Eviction Midtown Moving & Storage damaged and stole my property. Bronx, New York

On May 29, 2008, I was evicted and my property was taken by Midtown Moving & Storage, Inc., per my Landlord and City Marshal's request.  I was not home when it happened and when I arrived I saw the movers and superintendent in my apartment and my medicine and personal papers on the floor boxes packed half way, fragile items with no bubble wrap, my sheets and blankets wrapped around my furniture.  They never used any bubble wrap on fragile items and never used any wrapping at all on any of my items which was the reason for damages. 


The City Marshal never created an inventory list and the only list created was by the movers who had the superintendent sign a blank list which he testified in court that he never reviewed the list all he did was sign it, basically saying he signed a blank list.  The superintendent also testified that he wasn't supervising the movers so can't say if they used bubble wrap or not.  


The total in losses and damages was $25,000.00, which I filed a lawsuit in the NYS Civil Court and they awarded judgment to the defendants so I appealed the court’s decision and the case is pending an appeal date.  Some of the stolen items were given to me by my parents before the passed away and I will never be able to get them back.  We need to flood the court systems with these types of cases until they get it right and start ordering these hoodlums to pay for stealing and damaging consumer’s property.  When I say hoodlums I speak of the Landlord, City Marshal, Superintendent and Midtown Moving & Storage, Inc.  They’re all in fault in this case under the Detour and Frolic Tort Laws.  


The following is a lawsuit filed against Midtown:

Pursuant to Kim v. Midtown Moving & Storage Inc., (2000) the tenant brought an action against the cooperative and managing agent for personal property which was lost or damaged during the eviction of the tenant by the marshal. 


I also read several stories online about this moving company trying to scam consumers.  There's one story I read on this website from a person named "Skip" who resembles my story to the tee.  It looks like this person when through the exact same thing I did and losses were a lot larger than mine.   


Please if you have been treated wrong by Midtown Moving & Storage, Inc., start filing lawsuits against this company so they stop RIPPING OFF consumers.  If you have a story on this company please report it on this site as soon as possible.  If we’re going to stop this company and agents from stealing and damaging our property we need to start taking these people to court and blasting them online so others are aware and don’t go through we I and others been through.
