I have booked a 17 day safari for 2 persons to Zambia in Oct 2016 with Mophy Budget tours, yet he proved completely unreliable and a crook. First he told me that he needs our deposit urgently to secure the reservation for camps, because in some areas "there are only few camps". Then after we gave him the deposit, he did not do any reservations.

He used to call me repeatedly to assure me that everything will be fine, but despite my insistence that he had to reserve our camps as promised, he continued to just send emails full of lies – “everything will be fine” he used to tell us. At this stage I contacted the various camps he had to reserve for us, and all except 1 did not even KNOW him, let alone that he did a reservation with them.

After giving him 3 chances to do the reservations, and after waiting for 1 month, he only sent me some emails where he requested price quote, and not an actual reservation.

After I saw that this person cannot be trusted, I told him to refund our money back. Again we were told many other lies and excuses – the latter never proved true. Then he promised us to send the deposit back, in fact told us 7 times on different occasions in writing that he will send the deposit back as below quotes from his emails show.

He continued to lie to us, both in writing and via telephone. Till today, 3 months later, he has not given us anything except problems and lies. Below are the quotes from his emails where he promised to return our deposit:

"I will send to you . I will not let you down."
"I keep my words . you will receive your money . thanks mophy"
"Hello, your payment is in process . I'm not the sole proprietor. Thanks mophy"
"Happy new year. Yes I will send . I have no problem with you. If still interested we can still conduct your tour . and you will pay us at the end of the tour . when you are satisfied with our service. mophy"
"Hello, sorry for not responding to your mail I was out of network coverage. I will pay you back as soon as get back to my place. Thanks mophy"
"Hello, I hope you are fine . I will definatly send your money. Next day as I told you I'm on tour. Thanks mophy"
"Hello, I will send back the January mid kindly send your bank details . thanks mophy"

I'm writing this because I don't want anyone else to pass through this mess. In 20 years travelling I never encountered such a crook. Total liar. If anyone wants further details they can PM me and will send everything in writing to show what a total liar and fake this person is.

Then in February 2017, after receiving multitude of excuses, received the best one of all:

“Just wait a moment . then I will  have  no any other excuse.   I can not keep on this setuation.”

Mophy himself have now admitted that he ran out of excuses! The only thing he is capable of doing is lying.

But despite that he never returned our deposit.

We even made a police report but nothing was done.
