I dealt with this company over a year ago and they are the ones that got me into the home that I am in now. When I first went to go look at the house, I didnt realize it then, but it was evident that they do not feel the need to keep an eye out for people who are looking at the houses. Long story short, we have a history with this company and it hasnt been perfect.

We got into the house, and were supposed to work on getting our credit repaired so we could get a loan. But this didnt happen effectively and we felt we were put on a back burner after it was all said and done and they had their fees and everything. We would contact them to get info on what we needed to do and it was like they would tell us the same line as they told everyone else.

So now we are in a situation to move out of the house since we cant get the loan and we are living here while it is being shown. Well, an agent of his showed the house in the morning and a $100 dollar bill came up missing. So evidently it is the agent who did this or the client that viewed the house. The agent was walking around the house a good 10 minutes before the person showed up and I was upstairs in my room with the door locked with my sleeping child, trying to stay out of the way.

My purse was in the back room, by the back door, hanging up. It was very short notice before I knew they were coming and I didnt want to disturb my daughter and I stayed upstairs. I didnt even think about my purse being downstairs, it wasnt the first thing on my mind, maybe because I felt I could trust a REAL ESTATE agent to have some kind of ethical values.

Either way, once I came downstairs, I needed to check my credit card balance and needed my card number from my wallet. I went into the back room and got my wallet, and my $100 dollar bill that was in there was gone, but they left 2 $5 bills. How nice!!

I immediately tried to look everywhere to see if it was a chance I could have misplaced it and didnt want to start pointing fingers. I know it was in there but I wanted to cover all of my bases and checked pokets etc... I called my husband and asked did he have it and he said no, last I checked was when you got your money out yesterday and it was in your wallet.

He called the realty company, I called my landlord. He got the agents number and spoke to him, and he denied everything. He also questioned about the client and simply replied that "She would do it because she is a registered nurse."

How silly is that? Just based off of job description, that means a person wouldnt steal? I called his manager (Murphy) and got into an argument, he basically to sum it up claimed I didnt know what I did with my own money and I misplaced it and I better call and apologize if I find it. He also said he cant believe I would even come to him about this since he got me in this house. He also defended his agent Anthony by saying he has know him for 4 years, he would NEVER do anything like this and he is like a brother to him.

I also called the real estae company above him to see if someone there had some compassion and would be understanding and provide assistance in trying to investigate this and resolve the problem. I was wrong, I spoke to the broker for REMAX PREMIER (9200 Watson Rd St Louis MO 63126) and he was just as rude and told me that he knew that Anthony wouldnt do it and he has never had a problem in 4 years of working there. I simply tried to argue my point in saying that you NEVER can know 100% what ANYONE will do and ANY time!

Anyone is capable of anything! We all know this from people that embezzle from work, steal from churches, molest children and murder family members. NO, this is not a severe as murder by any means, but I am the most upset by the injustice. Instead of being understanding, they jump to the defensive about how this person would NEVER do this. What I want to know is...HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT??? ANd if it wasnt him, why wasnt he monitoring the client in an OCCUPIED home that is being shown?

Isnt a real estate agent responsible for what goes on inside of a home they show to someone? So basically I am out of my money and I will never get it back. I filed a report with the police but we all know that there is not much that anyone can do about MONEY missing. Its cash and UNTRACEABLE...

I have to put this report in because I feel that I was wronged all the way around. I got suckered into paying a fee for Murphys 'services' which is the same thing any real estate agent does with out upfront fees...nothing special there! My fee was supposed to include someone working close to get my credit right, and NOTHING happened. They will let you flow in the wind and forget you exist because they deal with SO many people everyday!

They DO not offer personalized service. My advice is to stick to a regular real estate agent to find these homes, their list is no different from theirs even though they claim to have " So many properties to choose from!" You dont need to pay for this and they wont do too much of anything to help your credit out.

Also, untrustworthy. I money was stolen either from an agent or a client they should have been monitoring. I money is on the agent, since he was in the house for 10 minutes without the client there, he had free reign around the house since I was upstairs and my purse was downstairs. So yes, my purse should have been with me...but are agents THIS bad that you have to worry they will steal from right underneath your nose??

And lastly, they will not be there if you have a problem. Just like with this, they will talk over you and make you feel like they do not care. They put on a good front and talk a good game, but will not give two craps if something goes wrong. I have never felt like it was so useless to file a complaint as I did when I called REMAX PREMIER or MURPHY HOME SOLUTIONS. They both were very argumentative and made me feel like it was my fault that someone stole from me, and I misplaced my own money...

This wont be the end of it and I am contacting everyone I can to let them know about the agents that have no compassion and could care less if someone steals from you. WATCH OUT! You will get screwed out of $250 fee for nothing. I know plenty of good agents now, and now know that you dont need to pay fees for their 'services'!

You stated that I " do not have time to properly handle my clients"....that obviously is untrue as I did my part in our transaction by getting you and your husband into the home!? That was my job in this deal!!???  This is not in question, you moved into the home that was obtained through our lease purchase program. In fact, I even negotiated an
extension to the original sales contract in order to give your husband more time to work on his credit. He is the one that decided he did not want to buy the home. Why would I not want to work / help him with his credit? I am paid my sales
commission when he actually buys the home, so there would be no reason as to why I would not help him. The facts are I did my part and actually you and your husband did not due your part.

As far as taking $100 dollars from your purse, that is the most ridiculous accusation I have ever been accused of.  I have been making a six figure income since I  first started in real estate over 15 yrs ago, I am a top ranked REALTOR in St.
Louis. I  have a TV commercial that airs multiple times on every day, we are on 5 to 6 different radio stations every day, and if you type in Lease Purchase in St Louis we are always on the first page of Google.  Success is a way of life with me.

The fact of the situation is that you were never a client of mine; all the paperwork was in your husband's name, I believe you probably lost your money and you seem to be the kind of person who blames everyone else for your own
problems. Anyone who is reading this should consider the facts, that we did our part and you can not dispute that you got a great home and you simply did not do your part in order to close the deal. Good luck and my advice is to grow up and stop blaming other people for your own failures.  This will get you nowhere in life.

Regardless of your reasons, and your responses, you have too much on your plate to focus on your clients properly. The point is that you sent an unlicensed "agent" into my home to show it. Which is not allowed. The amount of money stolen is not the point. The point is you sent somebody into my home that was not licensed to show homes into my home with no prior notice. I was caught off guard upstairs asleep when he showed up into my home.

$100 is not a lot of money. But I do know one thing. This is based on principle. He stole the money, came into my home unannounced and he was unlicensed to show homes. I know because I contacted the realtor association when I planned on filing a complaint. Money doesn't walk away from a wallet. Don't try to push this off on loss or misplacement. It was STOLEN.

Well, that is all I have to say. To consumers...beware!

Response to Complaint

AUTHOR: R.P. Murphy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, July 14, 2012

I  am the real estate agent that the complaint was made about.   Here are my issues with this complaint:

#1.  Obviously I  did my job with this client as she was now living in the home that she obtained through my lease purchase program.  As a matter of fact her husband was my client as she did not want her name on the contract at all.  She can not dispute the fact that she got a home through our program.

#2  She said that I did not work with her husband on his credit but that is untrue as he came into my office 2 or 3 times and we reviewed his credit and I  made suggestions on what he needed to do in order to be in position to purchase the home at the end of the lease.  I  am paid the majority of my commission when the client actually purchases the home, so why would I  not help the client? it would only be to my benefit.  The husband called me a month before he was scheduled to close on the home and said he simply did not want to buy the home because he thought he may be able to purchase something cheaper as there were many foreclosures in the area he wanted to buy in.

#3  When the person that made the complaint decided that they were not going to buy the home then the home came back on the market as a new lease purchase home.  So we had a client that wanted to look at it. A few days after showing the home then I get a call from her with this silly allegation.  My assistant at that time would never do anything like that.  She had no proof that he did anything of that nature, she was completely satisfied with our service as we got her the home that she wanted.  She at no time during the during the home search process expressed any concern with my assistant.  She could have lost her money, misplaced it, or someone else could have taken her money.  I  even took the time to talk to the client that my assistant was with and she said that my assistant and her were together at all times during the home showing and she did not take any money from anyone and neither did he.  She was a RN making 60k per year so I  am quite certain that taking money from a purse was not in her nature.  She ended up getting the home.

I hope that my response to this matter will help to inform any prospective client of ours that there are two sides to every story and ultimately she can not dispute that fact that I  did my job to get her husband a home.  Of course it is ultimately up to the client to get their credit together, I  am here to help but I  can not force someone to do the things that they are suppose to do.  You can go on to my website www.murphyhomesolutions.com and click on "credit help" and that explains how and what we can and can not do to help our clients with their credit.  Thanks for reading.
