I sent my original airbag controller for recoding as it was generating an error code.  They recoded it and sent it back.  It generated the same error and when I contacted myairbags they said "oh, we can't fix that code, it requires a new control module."  So, I took it to the dealer and bought a refurbished one myairbags had cleaned.  It didn't work.  They sent me a 2nd one, it didn't work.  When the tech at the dealer unplugged an airbag, it showed no codes on the new units at all after the units were coded to the vehicle (each control module has to be coded to the specific vehicle).  The original module, though still generating an error code, did show when an airbag was unplugged.  So...there appears to be something with the refurbished units that renders them problematic.  I called and asked about this and they kept blaming it on the dealer, indicating that the dealer had to code it.  When I explained the dealer had coded it and they were very familiar with this procedure, they then said they don't recommend refurbished units.  I asked why they had sold me 2.  The rep. said they recommend coding the original unit.  I reminded her I had them do that and then they sold me 2 refurbished anyway.

In the end, she told me to return the units for a refund.  I am now out $300 in labor and I still have to buy a $700 new unit from the dealer and pay additional labor.  Save yourself the expense, don't gamble on these folks.  The units may or may not work on other vehicles, but it was a disaster they didn't know how to solve and the experiment cost me $300 and I had to buy a new one anyway.  They did agree to refund all costs for the services/units and they called me to tell me they were doing so.
