On my computer there was a pop-up from AOL that asked if you want to make AOL your default browser. You could check yes or no. This pop-up appears each time you turn on your PC.

Because I have neuropathy, and my hands shake, I called AOL to remove the pop-up, and was told they couldn't. Low and behold, after avoiding this pop-up for three years; I accidently hit the yes. My entire page went crazy. It split in half, and I couldn't read my e-mail.

I called AOL at (866) 951-1434, and was told to call their service number at (866) 476-0026. When I got a man on the phone and told him what and how it happened; He informed me that it would take 2 seconds to fix, and asked for my credit card number. When I asked why, I was told because it is $99.00 to fix it. I was outraged! I asked him why they had the pop-up there, and couldn't remove it before this happened. He said, "Mamm, if you give me your credit card number, we can have this fixed, and it will only take a minute". I asked if he could give me a pass on this seeing I'm handicapped, and it was an error that I hit yes?. He said no.

I reluctantly gave him my card information, and in return I received a six digit number to give to the man he connected me to. In two seconds my screen was back to normal, and the pop-up was gone. This is a darn shame that AOL is conducting such a fraudulent scam on people just to make money.
