I agree with the earlier reviews and wish to further elaborate on my experience as a client of this company "Off Duty Officers, " yet there are no off duty officers / law enforcement working for this company! I recently switched companies after I found out that this Off Duty Officers company terminated former Vice-president of Operations Doug Packwood, Operations Manager Juan Santillana and his son Jack Packwood for NOT billing clients like us for the time the guard we ordered does NOT show up. I have REPEATEDELY caught guards Sleeping IN THE OPEN on my property in Grosvenor Square in Point Loma. I have found out the guards we had were not actually off duty law enforcement, but regular $10 earning security guards. If you do not believe me, ASK some of the guards you hired from this company, if they show up at all. I was appalled to find out this company does NOT even conduct a standard background check on some of employees it hires. Also, note the "armed" guards of this company come from a subsidiary of Off Duty Officers, aka JMJ security, who are also not off duty law enforcement- but are recruited among the regular security guards of this company, security guard supervisors such as Eric Jiminez, admittedly not having ANY law enforcement OR military experience working as an Armed "Off Duty Officer" . Employees of JMJ, aka the Armed wing of Off Duty Officers have to BID on shifts weekly via email and are lucky to even land one 4-hour shift a week. Clients, believing these people are actually OFf Duty Law Enforcement through the deceptive marketing of frauds like Terry DeGelder, the founder of this cop impersonator company, his schedulers like Luis Peinado, and Maegan Teague will try to deceive you into contracting with them and ripping you off at rates of $55-75 an hour. Before contracting, ask them if there are even any off duty cops from San Diego PD, or adjoining towns. I guarantee you won't find them at all, based ny inquiries on the armed guards I hired onto my sites. Do not be fooled; there are no off duty law enforcement/ cops working for "Off Duty Officers."

I have never worked for Off Duty Officers. I know Doug Packwood and Juan Santillana from Shield Security. Doug personally hired me without a state licence(guard card). I worked for three months without a licence. While employed, I was posted at a hotel at Hotel Circle for five months. The hotel front desk staff would repeatedly prank call me on the radio, and a disgruntled night auditor made false statements about me to have me removed. When I faxed an incident report to the client about harassment, I was immediately terminated. Juan informed me that I was fired for "misconduct." I was never questioned. Without questioning me, Juan accused me of returning to the hotel after my removal. I told Juan the report was faxed. Juan checked the corner of report and confirmed that the report was faxed. Then, Juan automatically gave credibility to the night auditor without me having a say. I reminded Juan that he said he 'wanted to keep things honest.' Juan rolled his eyes saying" They decided." After my termination, three front desk hotel staff members repeatedly prank called my home for months. I had to call the phone company and have the hotel front desk number blocked from calling my home. I applied to a state employer. Shield reported to the state employer that I was terminated for "misconduct." Shield told the state employer that I returned to the client's property after being removed. This was false. I was disqualified from the state employer.
The terminations of Doug Packwood and Juan Santillana is karma. They are both lowlifes.

The person making this rebuttal was fired from Off Duty Officers and got clients to follow suit
for refusing to bill clients and is now a Security Guard Supervisor at
Southwest Patrol.

The ex employees who sumitted this report were fired for violations of company policy and are angry and bitter. This company Off Duty Officers Inc has been providing excellent service for the past 23 years.
