Sad to see that after 14 years, not much has changed regarding my former colleague Paulemile Fequiere.  In 1998 my licensed, newly established Talent & Models business provided principal and extra models for TV, film, print-fashion, brand-advertiments and music videos.  We met while working for a publication called Happenings Magazine wherein the absentee owners placed the onus on Paulemile and myself to sell ad space, put together ad-layouts and cover special events.  At that time, he was the most reliable photographer for the magazine.  We worked long, hard hours together in the hot Central Florida sun on little and often late pay.  Paulemile and I had a better than average business bond, based upon complementary skills, vision, and common sweat-equity... or so I once thought for two years.

While the two of us were out on assignments for the magazine, more than a few times, we encountered people who had previous issues with Paulemile.  One slightly impaired guy was inches from drawing his not-so-concealed handgun on him at Disney's Pleasure Island, restrained only by his fully sober friend and the presence of someone bold enough to standby Paulemile in his defense.  Me.  Until he later double-crossed me, I had not personally experience anything negative or underhanded with him.  Not wanting to judge him or anyone based hearsay or their past.

The beginning of the end of all business dealings, and former friendship, with Mr. Fequiere happened when the owner/manager of a Hip-Hop apparell store called Kicks & Threads named Kirk contracted Paulemile to direct two music videos and a possible third for the 69 Boyz.  Paulemile in turn contracted principal models for the video/shoot through my booking agency.

Paulemile explained that there was not enough money in the budget for the first video to pay the principal models before giving me a check for $150 "in good faith".  However, it became very evident when he purchased new camera equipment, a computers, printer and more, that that was not the case. The empty trailer, slowing everyone down that no one knew was for the rap artists and models to change wardrobe, their hair & makeup.  More obvious things were the Lamborghini and Hummer which Kirk, the producer, had also rented for the shoot.

Following the 69 Boyz "We Roll" video-shoot wrap that day and for the next two weeks, Kirk was so impressed with the models that he wanted to contract them for marketing helping him to brand his underachieving store.

At Kirk's adamant request, two other business associates and I restructured sponsor/advertising packages for an upcoming event making Kirk's "Kicks-N-Threads" the largest and title-sponsor of a gala runway fashion event.  An event already in the makings wherein Paulemile Fequiere was budgetted to be well-paid as the videographer and creater of VIP Sponsors TV commercial spots, no less.

All things fine and in order until the appointment day moment when Kirk chose to conspire with Paulemile and breach the $15,000.00 title-sponsor contract worth more than double, to shoot a TV commercial for Kicks-N-Threads with some of my non-exclusively signed clients.  An illegal action according to lawful counsel in which he was informed by Paulemile that I would not have resources to pursue in court - witnessed and overheard by more than one of my model/clients who were contacted by phone by Paulemile from Model Release forms.

Paulemile Fequiere selfishly spearheaded the sabotage of a production wherein he was not the lead-negotiator and lied to my clients.  He told them that my fairly recently acquired leased vehicle (at that time) was from pay that I was keeping rather than paying clients - when in fact I was working two jobs, driving him and his equipment around with very little or no compensation, and my parents had co-signed for me to qualify for that vehicle lease... prior to me (and 70% of a sales team) being laid-off from my draw vs. commission job.

Evidence of probably zero improvements in his character since 1999???  I say, work with him at your own risk however, be prepared to carry an unfair share of his load, to sacrifice valuable posessions, take years to repair your collaterally damaged relationships, and for him to pity himself as the fabulously talented victim.
