On April 6 I attemped to tranfer money from my paypal acct to my bank acct. Paypal rejected the transfer so it did not go into my bank acct. Paypal said the bank rejected it the bank said they never recieved a hit on my acct from paypal.

Paypal has spend the last three days blaming me and chase bank for their system error. And I am left with $170 in NSF Fee. Paypal will not take responsblity for their mistake. I have recorded every conversation with paypal and chase bank.

Update.

AUTHOR: Dallaree - (United States)

POSTED: Sunday, April 14, 2019

I filed a compliant with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Their system couldn't take the any of phone recordings so I had to make it clear that I would submit them to Paypal if requested. I now have a video of me taking the same sets on the paypal website and getting the same results, which I will also give to Paypal if requested. Paypal has 15 to 60 days to respond.

I don't know how to cut the recordings down to be able to upload them. Ripoff Report site won't take them either.

So instead of trying to contradict anything that was said, you default to the typical reaction on this site that I somehow must work for the company.

Well sorry but I do not now or have I ever worked for Paypal, and other than having a Paypal account have no other connection to them.   But the fact that you went this route instead of trying to contradict anything brought up you have still shown now proof that it was a Paypal issue.  It very well could have been Chase...or YOU.

You also didn't contradict about your failure to manage your account and that being the real reason for your overdraft.

By the way Paypal has given me three different letter blaming everyone but paypal for why the transfer was reversed. Thank god I recorded all the calls I had with them.

If Paypal sent the transfer to the wrong account then Chase would never see a hit on your account, because Paypal didn't try to send it to your account. This is most likely what happened.

Now, how did PayPal get the wrong account? They of course could have sent over the wrong account information, but with everything being Automated that would be unlikely. What would be more likely is that you put in the wrong information, where either your Routing Number or Account Number was wrong. In that case they are just sending it where you told them to and you are lucky it was rejected because had you put in valid information for another person you would have a lot harder time getting it back.

There is also a possibility that the Chase system was having issues so again the rejection would have happened even before it tried to reach your account.

As for the NSF fees the ONLY one responsible for those is you. As you spent money that you did not have in your account. You should NEVER assume that you can beat money back to the bank. Oh and yes this is what you did because you tried to do the transfer on a Saturday, which means the earliest it would have been processed and posted was Monday night.  So you were either already overdrawn or knew you would overdraw in the next day.
