Received collection notice mailed firstly to my previous married name then my current married name claiming they were collecting for the IRS on a 2008 claim for $42,000.

Firstly I never MADE $42,000 in 2008 and I am sure if I owed the IRS this amount I would have received correspondence from them. Called Performant and they tried to extract my social security number from me, first red flag, surely if they were collecting from the IRS they would already have this information. Hung up on them.

Scammers!!
