We hired this company to move our house from VA to AZ. The binding contract said the price would be $1958.75. I paid the deposit of $575.25  over the phone (with the balance due by money order or cash upon delivery) and agreed a date and time for the company to come and collect the items.

The came and picked up all the items, took them to their storage facility in New York then called me 4 days after collecting them, asking me to pay another $6000 as the amount of items collected did not match the binding quote.

I told them that's a stupid amount of a price increase and they said 'tough'. Either pay or we will sell your goods.

This all happened in April 2011, to this day, we are still fighting over the price. The have now agreed to deliver all the goods back to VA for $2000. However, they are now asking for $6005.18 for storage, even though through all this fighting, I have a e-mail from the manager saying that no charges will apply to me for storage, and I need to pay this by Monday 3rd October 2011 or they will be holding a auction on 13th October 2011 to sell our stuff.

I have just found out via my attorney that the maximum they are allowed to charge above a binding quote is 10% of the original amount, or they should have not agreed to collect the goods.

I wish I knew about this website and the BBB.org before we hired them, they are not accredited with the BBB and have 100's of complaints against them. This, is a standard procedure for them it seems.

Well, I am in the process of suing them now and my attorney is one that has actually dealt with this company before and knows all about them.
