Restone Harley Davidson Dealership leaves you hanging. Alabama

I bought my Roadglide Special 15 May 2021. Buying the bike was fine. They were more than helpful and friendly about it. But now here I am 07 September 2021 and I still don't have a plate for my bike. To make it even worse they tried to pass the issue off to me because my finance officer that works for them lost my registration. I have been pulled over by our local and county law enforcement for the dealer plate.

I showed them the paperwork that the plates are being processed and I do own the bike but they didn't care. The last time I was pulled over I was told the impound was next. I haven't ridden my bike in over two months. Every time I call its the same "we are very sorry and we will take care of it". Still no plate or temp plate that I've been asking for since day one leaving the dealership. Out of state buyer beware!

As of two days ago Redstone HD's title department called me to pass off the responcibility to my local license plate issuing facility. They said its now with the Shelby County TN folks and i will need to contact them. Oh by the way they are months behind too. So this was thier attempt clear themselves from this you know what show.

The bottom line is if they would have done the right thing from the beginning i.e. drive out tag or not lost my paperwork neither of us would be in this position. The kicker of all of this is that the Finance officer was from the Memphis, TN area and knew I would need a drive out tag.

If your are out of state don't buy a bike or if you do don't leave the dealership until get a drive out tag. They will try to tell you that they don't issue drive outs because Alabama doesn't require them.
