Reunions Unlimited, Inc. My 14 Year Old Son Knows MORE About Music Than Their So-Called "Professional" DJ's Englishtown, New Jersey

But, my main gripe was with the so-called "professional" DJ's that they provided for us. Their website clearly states the following: "Our disc jockeys are of an unusual calibre. They are experts at performing reunions. We train them ourselves so that the music is used to help reunite classmates, not as an appendage." The young male and female that showed up that night were FAR from experts and had no knowledge what-so-ever of the music that they even had. As a matter of fact, they hardly played anything from the year we graduated. In my opinion, THAT should have been first and foremost... the HITS from 1979.

At around 11:45pm, I requested to the female that they play some "Queen" for me, but the puzzled look on her face told me immediately that she had no idea what I was talking about. She tapped her partner-in-crime on the shoulder and asked him if "they" had any Queen... at which time he too scratched his head and responded, "I don't think so, besides, it's too late anyway."

When I reminded him that it was only 11:45 and that we booked the room until 1:00am... he stated that they were only paid to "stay" until midnight. I assured him that he must be mistaken... but he insisted that was indeed the case. I was dumbfounded at the fact that we would be left without music for the last HOUR of our reunion. I tried to reason with him and even asked if there was someone that I could call to confirm this... but to no avail. The only way they were staying is if they received MORE money...!!! 

So, I reluctantly borrowed their cordless microphone and announced to our class the dilemma that we were facing and suggested that we "pass" around a hat to collect the funds that were needed to have them stay. Many of the guests were unhappy stating that they had already paid TOO much and shouldn't have to pay more. But much to our dismay... we did it. 

This was NOT simply a small oversight in my eyes... but instead a MAJOR blunder. And these two DJ's were NOT trained experts... in fact they were inexperienced kids who were hired to come and play "whatever". 

Reunions Unlimited, STINK is a better name for what they are... never again.
