We've all seen all kinds of TV commercials talking about mattresses for sale.  Many mattress companies who advertise on TV and radio always offer to haul off  your old mattress free of charge When you buy a brand-new mattress from them. I've always wondered what happens to the old mattresses after they pick them up from your house and haul them away for you free of charge.

I am sure that many of us reading this report has been to a city dump before. Every time I've gone to the city dump to haul off yard Debris I have never seen a truck unloading a whole bunch of old used stained mattresses that stink to high heaven. A mattress that somebody slept on for several years I am sure does not have a high market value.  I am also sure that there's not huge market for people out there looking to buy other peoples old mattresses to sleep on.  So we have to wonder what ever happens to these old mattresses.

We all hear about everybody wanting to protect the environment and recycle everything they possibly can.  Now thinking about recycling everything I wonder where these old mattresses are going what's happening to them..

So I decided to do some research and I want you to be the judge as to what I have found.  I'm requesting you to post your thoughts about this report regarding mattresses that should be in the city dump.

I went to a local gas station down on 51st Ave. just south of I 10 in Phoenix Arizona and I got a little education as to what happens to these old mattresses.  Now we must remember I'm talking about old mattresses been in peoples houses and been slept on for many years.  God only knows what other kind of activities have happened on these all stained mattresses.  So as far as that's concerned use your imagination.

A few guys that stop in at that Quiktrip on I 10 and 51st Ave in Phoenix az told me what they do with old mattresses when they home off from peoples houses.  One Hispanic gentleman told me that he works for a large mattress company here in the valley and when they Sold a customer a new mattress and hauled off the old mattresses.  They sell them to R&S mattress down on 51st Ave.  Just a small distance on 51st ave south of   I 10 on the right-hand side of the road.

I went down there and I seen truckloads literally semi truck loads of old stained mattresses.  I took many pictures and went there many times and the mattresses are still there they're not being hauled off to the dump like one would think they should be.  You think maybe the health department would prevent companies from selling or recycling old mattresses.  I personally think that it would be a health hazard.

Well at this point we have to ask ourselves how do you recycle somebody's old mattress or box springs that they slept on for many years?  I mean really how do you recycle somebody's old mattress can somebody post their thoughts please.

I personally would not want to sleep on old stained mattresses that belong to other people, Much less I would not want to pay for them.  In my opinion old stained mattresses that have all kinds of slimy stains on them and all kinds of mites and maybe even cockroaches all of them should be deposited into the city dump.

I personally would want to know if I bought a mattress and got a smoking deal on it where did it really come from is it just reupholstered and placed in a new plastic bag and presented as a new mattress?

Maybe you folks out there that got smoking deals on your mattresses from where ever you bought them might want to flip them over and take a little nife and take a look inside and see if it's stained, Rotten wood, mashed springs or cracked wood.  Maybe that mattress you bought has a funky smell and you can't understand how a new mattress has a funky smell.   I challenge you flip it over and cut it open and take a look inside you might throw up.

I personally would be a little bit skeptical of going to the flea market and buying a mattress at such a huge discount not knowing where it truly came from.   If your mattress was brand-new when you bought it and it had a funky smell and it still has a funky smell every time you Lay on it, I challenge you flip it over and cut it open and then post the name of the company you bought it from after you discover what it really is.

My opinion after somebody hauls off your old mattress it should be discarded at the city dump.  We can't take everything And recycling it just because we want to go green.

Mattresses should never be recycled they should only be trashed when they No longer have a life left in them.

I urge you and everyone you know to be skeptical of where you got your mattress if you got such a smoking deal on it and you were led to believe that it was new.  The only funky smelling your mattress should come from your butt not From somebody else's butt.  Now do your homework cut  your mattress apart from the bottom side and take a sneak peek inside.

what's that funky smell ????

Maybe we can get somebody from R&S Mattress to tell us why they have all those old stained mattresses in storage for such a long period of time what do they really do with them. Why is it that they never seem to haul them to the dump?

Now for some SHOCKING educational videos EVERYBODY SHOULD WATCH before EVER buying a new or used mattress.

Sell used mattress?

AUTHOR: Gsinca - ()

POSTED: Monday, March 02, 2015

they, or any other reputable company sells "used" mattresses. Ever been to the TJ or Yuma border crossing? Truckloads of these used mattresses being sent to Mexico. Some come back to the US but DO NOT end up in a major company. Mom and pop places buy them. Rest stay in Mexico. Get the facts before posting and slamming any company

First....

First it would be HIGHLY unethical for anyone to present a used mattress for sale. Stains ect would definatly ruin any potential sale. Second, unless you have seen with your own eyes that this company is selling used as new, this report is FABRICATED!! You have supposition and assumption as your basis. Third, there is a lot of metal in a mattress. They could be scraping the metal and then be recycling the mattress material. They would strip the mattress down to its frame. Remove the metal for recycling. Then removes the stuffing ect. That stuffing would go to a reclamation center where it would be shredded then soaked in bleach and other assorted chemicals. Cleaning and disinfecting the material.

After its cleaning that material would go on to be "stuffing" for other products. I.E. Dog beds. So you really dont have to worry that you would be getting "recycled" stuffing in a NEW mattress. Nice of you to defame a company by posting their name on a Ripoff site. Perhaps you should get a taste of what that feels like.

You do realize that Common Sense is now a super power right???
