These guys are the ultimate liars !   Gary Smith (salesman) knew that I had serious weight limitations for an rv trailer.  I told him that it could not exceed 3800lbs.  Magically he told me that the trailer weighed 3815 pounds (there were no stickers that we could find with weight specs).  I signed for it, had it financed and then found out that it weighed 4163 lbs.  I refused to take delivery. That 300 lbs was what would have been available for cargo carrying capacity.  On the tow package, Frank (salesman) agreed that they would do, not only the list of items on a Camping World estimate for a trailer package, but more.  They did less.  They also failed to inform me that my car should be equipped with a transmission cooler for so that the weight of this trailer would not cause damage to my engine and transmission.

Joe (manager) called me a liar. Told me that he never heard of any requirement to calculate the overall weight of the car, load, passengers and trailer weight. Duh ! Every trailer hitch place knows this.  The manufacture of the trailer even refers everyone to the auto manufacturers web site which provides the spec to calculate the total weight.

I even offered to buy a different trailer from them that would get me some cargo carrying capacity.  He said "screw you", it's not my problem.  The Ford specs are meaningless, you can ignore them.  They always underestimate what is safe.  you can add another 1,000lbs to the load (which would put me over by a 1,000lbs).

Really nice !  Lies, misrepresentations, ignore safty guidelines and then, best of all I got the..."I'm just a good ol boy from Kansas where a handshake and our word are good".  Only if you count your fingers and toes when these guys get done.

So, to date, I am on the hook for this trailer.  I have a total of 54 pounds that I can add to either my car or the trailer.  Let's see, you can put in bedsheets and toilet paper and a few canned goods, but no tables, no tv dish, no barbecue.

Avoid them like the plague !

You're not too bright!

I would like to start off by stating that I do not, in any way, work for, or am associated with Fife RV Center. After reading this complaint, I feel it is completely absurd. I'm a professional soldier and military Contractor of 30 years, as well as a business owner. I've been shopping and studying the RV market since 2009, and am a prospective customer of Fife RV Center. I have a comment for Mr. 'Blame it on the Salesman" here.

You only have yourself to blame! If you're so fool-hearty as to make a big ticket purchase such as an RV, soley based upon what a slaesman tells you, then it's your own fault. Most salesmen (whether automobile, RV, ect.) are the new guys on the block, and are just starting out in the business. It's easy to blame them for any 'discomfort' after the sale. I doubt they strong-armed you, or held a gun to your head to force you to make the purchase. It's been too easy for me in the past, to google the manufacturer of every RV I've looked at and been interested in, in order to get a phone number, and make a direct call and find out all the pertinent information I needed to make the right decision. And what's more; their always more than happy to answer all my questions!

It sounds to me like you made an impulse buy buddy! If you went no further (as you say in your complaint) to ascertain the information you needed, other than asking the sales guy; then it's totally and completely your own fault! I hate to say it; but you screwed yourself!

Bottom line up front: Do your research and get all your questions answered before you sign on the line. Then, you won't have to write your story for the entire world to see how you screwed yourself...
