I was introduced to Dominic Colbert (owner of Sales and Margin now known as Entre IQ) at a job fair. He introduced me to his business and in my opionion exaggerated the success of his business. He guaranteed me on numerous occasions that he could and would introduce me to individuals that could help further my career as well as give me the tools and skills I needed to start my own business. Mr. Colbert made a verbal agreement to pay me a monthly stipend of $1,000 for the first 3 months of my internship. I began interning with Mr. Dominic Colbert the first week of April, implementing communications and public relations duties for his business, Sales and Margin LLC ( Entre I.Q. Entreiq EntreDc ) I have a BAS in Communication from The University of North Carolina and have the skills necessary to execute communications responsibilities with a focus in Public Relations. Upon completion of the 3 month internship, if my skills proved worthy I would be offered employment with Entre I.Q. A 3 month trial period which I would not complete due to Mr. Colbert’s inability to pay me for my services during the month of May. I was not given specific job duties, but instead was told “show me what you got.” I believed in Dominic Colbert and his entrepreneurial program, being oblivious to the fact that he is not only unprofessional, unethical, condescending but a con-artist and a fraud as well. He falsifies documents in order to receive grant money from the non-profit organizations he is partnered with. That would include, exaggerating (basically lying) about his training class, student enrollment. He partnered with an organization (which I will keep anonymous) who agreed to pay for 6 students to be in his class; he informed his non-profit partner, Emory Beacon of Light, that he in fact had 15 students enrolled when in reality he only had 6 students in the class. The students were required to sign in and those sign in sheets were then supposed to be showed to the Director of Emory Beacon of Light, Inc. as well as his other partner, Office of the Chief Technology Officer ( DC Office of the Chief Technology Officer ) who provided the mobile tech bus for his Emory class location. He informed me to not show those sign in sheets to his partners until he reviewed them himself because he only had 6 people in his afternoon class and 2 people in his evening class.

Due to his unprofessionalism the organization that I will keep anonymous removed their students from his program only after their first day of class. They were not at all satisfied with his teaching (preaching) style and his overall arrogant attitude. Because of those students being removed from his program he was left with 2 students and was forced to cancel his class at his Emory Beacon of Light location. The photographs on his website are from last years which display a class full of students when again in reality he only has 4 students currently enrolled in his training program at The HIVE 2.0; which is why he is unable to meet monthly revenue goals. He bribes students in his class, to perform their services in exchange for opportunities to be connected with resource partners but fail to connect them with said resource partners. He has gotten free of charge IT work as well as photography and videography from students in his class; students who have reached out to me about also feeling scammed by Mr. Colbert. He has only two employee both of whom he pays under the table to avoid tax obligations. He proclaims to have prestigious clients who pay $400 an hour for his coaching services but has $10,000 in billable invoices. His marketing strategy to expand his business is to get his resources partners and students to advertise and FREELY promote his program.

I began interning for Mr. Colbert the first week of April. I was paid my monthly stipend for April on May 5. I worked 5 days a week well over 8 hours a day. I created and managed his social media accounts, conducted interviews with clients and students, administrative responsibilities, as well as emailing, creating fliers for events and creating contact list for potential resource partners and locating speaking events for Mr. Colbert to promote his business. The week of May 29, Mr. Colbert did not come in the office nor did he initiate any contact with me, Wednesday Thursday or Friday June 2, which was pay day. Mr. Colbert’s assistant informed me that Mr. Colbert was not coming in the office and would be in on Monday, meaning I would not be paid for my monthly contributions to his business. I called Mr. Colbert multiple times as well as texted. I was able to get in contact with Mr. Colbert at which point he stated he had no plans on paying me my monthly stipend due to revenue goals for his business not being met. I not only dedicated time to his business but skills, energy and commitment to growing his business and was told by him that I contributed absolutely nothing. Friday June 2, Mr. Colbert made a verbal promise that I would be paid Monday evening. Monday June 5 arrived and Mr. Colbert still did not have my monthly stipend. He made another verbal agreement that I would be paid no later than Friday. On Friday June 9, Mr. Colbert AGAIN did not communicate with me in any type of way.

At this point I have absolutely no faith in his business or him as a business owner to conduct ethical business practices and procedures. He makes false promises and decide when to pay and not pay his employees. He is beyond unprofessional, unethical, and insincere. His business lacks traffic, students, clients and revenue. It is very unfortunate to believe so deeply in a person and their business to only be taken advantage of. Mr. Colbert likes to "preach the gospel of entrepreneurship" but again is unable to secure seats in his class or events he host or meet monthly revenue goals. Invest in this man and his business at your own risk. He will sell you a dream only to leave you disappointed and used. Being introduced to Mr. Colbert and his business has been one of the most stressful, unfulfilling and disappointing two months of my life. The naive in me believed that meeting Mr. Colbert would be life changing and it turned out to be true but not for the best. I would not trust Dominic Colbert his business, his class, his events, his business mentoring and the false hope he pitches to the desperate. He preys on the weak and desperate.
