READ THIS. DO NOT WORK HERE. This job consists of and is run by sales people, the position and "opportunity" are SOLD to each person that is interviewed and works there. When interviewed, the salary is described as 500 for the first two weeks, and 700 a week after that.  The job is 100% commission... which is fine, what they do not mention is... any applications that are rejected because a customer changes their minds, is not paid on. So, often your paycheck is less than what you planned on.

They do not mention that in addition to driving to the office every morning and evening, you will also be driving to a territory, and they get farther away the longer you are with the company. The last one I had was AN HOUR AND A HALF AWAY. That is three hours of driving a day, in addition to driving to and from the office, in addition to driving from business to business. This is alot of gas money, not to mention wear and tear on your vehicle.

There are morning meetings every Monday night (unpaid), you will be required to stay late to check over applications (unpaid), and even made to do office jobs like clean the bathrooms (unpaid), and for a week or two will be required to scan in applications and stay until 8 or 9 in order to learn the business AKA learn to scan in a piece of paper (unpaid). You will be required to go to Panera bread at 730 every morning (unpaid), and expected to go to team night every Thursday (perfect if you like sitting at a bar every Thursday night, because thats where team night is).

After being in the business for several months, I realized that making 500 a week before taxes and before gas money, was MORE than what most people working there longer than me were making. What happened to 700? Another thing not mentioned... you will be interviewing people by taking them with you in your car, to a territory and spending the entire day with them. That is fine, however.. these are people pulled from craigslist BEFORE THEY HAVE A BACKGROUND CHECK. So, you really do not know who the people are that you are in your vehicle with all day. Also, you must buy them lunch, which you are not given reimbursement for.

Realize, that a job where you are working from lets say 8-6, which you will actually be doing 730 to at least 630 by the way... is  10 hours. You are expected to make on average $100 a day. Some days it is more, some less. but it averages to be about 5-600 a week max. So, this is 10.00 an hour,.. before taxes, before gas money, and buying someone else lunch. Now, when you have applications rejected, or have an "off" week, your paycheck could be 3-400 a week. So... lets take a Monday. From 730 at panera bread learning about the business to 800 which is when the monday meeting will end, at 100.00.  12.5 hours at... if you make quota.. 100.00 for the day. That is 8.00 per hour. Lets say that you spent 10.00 on gas, and 8.00 on someone elses lunch, not even your own. That ends up being 6.56 per hour before taxes. What is that per hour? and did I mention the first week is unpaid, and you have to wait two weeks after your first sale to get a paycheck? So... that means, three weeks without a paycheck. And the first paycheck, is about 40.00. So, try a month without any actual money.

This position offers no time off and no vacation days. Do not plan on taking a sick day, because to them, it shows great work ethic to come to work being sick. Its a great idea, especially in an office full of people, where you go around all day shaking hands with people and talking face-to-face. This position does offer benefits after 90 days, however they will often have you switch campaigns or offices, making the 90 days start all over again. so good luck!

They make employees feel that this is the only job with opportunity. They often talk about employees who quit or were fired, and how they feel that their job is under them. For example, Eric Chapman talked about a girl that used to work for him and now works at a bank. He enjoys going there to cash his paychecks, so she can see how much money he is making. Exactly. How much money he is making, because he makes his employees pay for an interviews lunch, so that they like the job and he can later make money off of them. Some people that work there expressed to me that they felt as if they quit, they would not find a job elsewhere. Guess what? They found one right after they quit, with better pay and not as much bs.

Everyone is interviewed and trained by employees, who do not gain any additional income from this. So, the longer you are there, the harder you have to work and are not paid more for this. Also, some employees take out interviews almost everyday. Do you feel like buying lunch for someone else every day? I do not mind if I like the person, but if it is someone that I do not, and I do not plan on giving a good 'report' on our day together, what a waste. But ultimately, that should not be anyones job but the person who would make money off of them...the owner. If you are not making enough money to pay for all of your expenses, do not bother talking to the managers about it. They will tell you to stick with it for the "opportunity", and will tell you not to work on the weekends because you need to give them 100% for better results. The "opportunity" of being a manager and running your own office sounds great, but realize that some of the owners go out of business. Not realistic. and also realize that while the office in Timonium is larger, many of the owners are running an office of about six people. So they are not making the same amount of money that is talked about to keep you interested in the position.

If you go there, just pay attention and realize that you are being sold a position, by sales people, because the owner wants to make money off you. and the employees there, will influence you to stay because they are TRAINED to do so by building your confidence and patting you on the back. One... because that is how people were to them and Two.. because they are told to do it. Now, I appreciate working as a team and being supportive/supported (very important in a work environment), and I enjoy being that way to others, but it becomes an issue of just trying to make you stay. If each employee is not portraying a positive attitude at all times, they will be talked to. So, when you ask them how their day went, whether they drove around the entire day, spent money and made Zero dollars, they will say that their day was amazing. I completely understand having a great attitude, but realistically, after you leave the office at the end of the day, its not amazing to have a job where you made nothing for the day driving around while working your a** off. If I want to work for nothing, it had better be an amazing internship for a reputable company where I am learning a TON of information. Unfortunately, thats not what this job is, nor is it described to be. Basically, this is not a serious position where all bases are covered with a clear and realistic picture. They will tell you that it is not for everyone, but they dont mention that in reality... the position is not that great either. Work there if you have money saved up and feel like playing around.

All throughout high school and college I have been described as a person with an extremely positive attitude and always smiling. I am being realistic about this position, so that recent graduates to not get into something that they do not know everything about, and many of the reasons behind the outlook that the owner and many employees will portray. If you read business books, you will learn just as much as you would working for this company. Most of the material they teach is from books such as Rich Dad Poor Dad, Making friends and influencing people, the tipping point, The seven habits of highly effective people, etc. Nothing more than what you can find at your local bookstore. Read the books, get the information.. but try for a different job.
