Samsung We bought a large microwave in Jan of 2020 and it just died. Wal-Mart wouldn't take it back and said we had to go thru Samsung. After an hour of back and forth put-offs on-line, they would not refund my money. So, bad product, and warranty worth as much as the cheap paper it was printed on.

I wanted to return our microwave because it just died.  We did the troubleshooting, did the breakers, etc...  It was dead. We returned it to Wal-Mart, and they, surprisingly, said they would not refund our money.  We had to go thru Samsung, they said   We then loaded the big thing back into the car, went to Best Buy and bought a good microwave.   We are senior citizens and home mostly, so we use it a lot.  Went home, got on online because the phone line was a wait time of over 30 minutes.  Spent about 45 minutes to an hour pretty much arguing with 2 different reps.  Absolutely, no  help.  They only offered to repair it.

It died.  I don't want it repaired and don't want that brand again.  Why would I?  It didn't even last 1 year.  We paid $129.99 + tax and thought we had gotten a product from a good company.  The warranty says they will repair, replace or refund the money. It was up to Samsung.  Well, I don't want their product, have another, and they still refused.  I have the original receipt and warranty.  So, beware, folks.  First, Wal-Mart is refusing to honor the products they sell and Samsung's warranty is useless!!

This is not a matter of just money.  It seems many companies, large and small, are backing away from taking responsibility for the things they promote and sell to the public.  It's time the consumers get what they pay for in good faith!!!

"There is no time factor other than the one-year warranty on this product from Samsung."

That’s correct. Samsung, not Walmart. I already told you that Walmart has a 90-day return window. You only see what you want to see.

"So, now we have spent well over $130. and have received nothing from either seller, Walmart, or maker, SAMSUNG."

That is a false statement. Samsung offered a warranty repair. You declined their offer.

"neither company has done squat to make this warrantied product valid"

That’s another false statement. An offer of a warranty repair is better than squat.

"Now, we have to suffer loss to huge companies who have, seemingly, little if any, integrity."

Your statement, "They only offered to repair it", tells us that Samsung has integrity. You will only accept a refund and eight months of free use. It doesn’t work that way but nice try.

There is no time factor other than the one-year warranty on this product from Samsung.  I don't know where you get the 90 day thing.

Samsung's No Honor on Defective Merchandise

AUTHOR: Becki - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, September 04, 2020

I honestly do not know how to post my warranty but I will put it word for word from page 14 of last paragraph.  It states...'During the applicable warranty period, a product will be repaired, replaced, or the purchase price refunded, at the sole option of SAMSUNG'.

I returned this defective product to the seller, Walmart, who not only refused a refund, but didn't offer to replace it or give us credit, either.  If anything had been offered, that would have been the end of this story.  However, we then went to another reputable store and bought another microwave.  Like I said, we don't need 2 microwaves.  We DID what was required.  SAMSUNG even had the gall to tell me they don't honor warranties from third party sellers.  What???    I imagine the reps that work there just love trying to cover your rearends.

People don't want to take a chance with a company that skirts and excuses their sorry business practices.  Period!!

So, now we have spent well over $130. and have received nothing from either seller, Walmart, or maker, SAMSUNG.  While it may have been the option of the maker to not honor the fact that we did due diligence from our end,  neither company has done squat to make this warrantied product valid.  We are back to zero.  It's hard enough to do business being handicapped and then still be expected to run all over town or be put off on the phone.  Now, we have to suffer loss to huge companies who have, seemingly, little if any, integrity.  Sad.

So, remember the old adage that still holds true.  BUYER BEWARE...especially from folks like SAMSUNG.

Your Complaint Concerning the Warranty Is Not Valid

AUTHOR: coast - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, September 04, 2020

You are outside of Walmart’s 90 day return window.

"They only offered to repair it."

In your own words they are standing behind the terms of the warranty. You chose to decline their reasonable offer.

"The warranty says they will repair, replace or refund the money."

Please post a copy of the Samsung written warranty that includes an offer of a refund.
