First, I have 6 months of sobriety. Alcohol was causing me problems, so it was time to go to AA meetings and quit drinking. This also meant no more going to bars and liquor stores, places that serve or sell alcohol as a primary function.
Well, now it looks like the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is another place that might get entered onto my "Not safe for AA members" list. I was walking around the park, and one of the vendors looked me straight in the eye, and said something like, "You look like you need a beer." Well, that was the last thing that I expected to hear at a place like the Wild Animal Park. Sure, in a bar you expect someone to offer you a beer, that's what they are in business for. The Wild Animal park is not in the business of selling alcohol, they are in the travel and tourism business. It only happened once that day, so might go back in a month and see if it happens again.
The Wild Animal Park needs to do a better job about training their vendors. If someone asks for a beer, you get them one. If they aren't asking for beer, don't push it on them. Some people have a problem with alcohol, and telling someone they look like they need a beer is not a good business practice, unless you're operating a bar.

I also went to AA meetings for several years - my last beer was in 1980.
One of the main things we learned was how to handle yourself when you are in a situation where there is alcohol present. You are not going to change the world to adhere to your problems and you shouldn't . Most people have no problem with alcohol so why should the world change to accommodate us.
You will find yourself in far worse situations and you had better learn to deal with them as soon as possible.
I might have said something like - Thanks for the offer but no thanks, I'll just have a coke (or whatever).
Anyway, bring it up at an AA meeting and get suggestions from other people, that's what they're for.

Seriously man? The guy offered you a beer.... ONCE. It's his job to sell the items in his stand. He wasn't pushy or aggressive. How exactly would you train someone to spot recovering alcoholics? You are way over-sensitive to this, I agree people should be careful on what they say in public, but there is a line and you need to have SOME level of understanding and tolerance.

How is the vendor supposed to "train" their employees? How to spot a recovering alcoholic? Can't be done. There are many places that serve alcohol - restaurants, movie theaters (some), grocery stores, weddings, privates parties and I could on and on.
Just say no thank you and move on! Did they put a gun to your head? NO. If you take your sobriety seriously you can resist the temptations and just enjoy yourself.

Dealing with Alcohol Addition is tough and it is good that you are working on it and hopefully will be able to make it.
However, saying "You look like you need a beer" one time hardly sounds "aggressive". In fact I would think that since you (hopefully) declined against getting a beer says a lot in your attempts to deal with your addition.
You need to prepare yourself because this will happen a lot.
There are many resturants who's "primary" or even "secondary" function is not to serve alcohol that when you get seated the waitress/waiter will ask you if you want to start off with a glass of wine or some other alcoholic beverage. There are advertisements and sponsorships at various places that are a heck of a lot more "aggressive" in trying to sell alcohol.
