I agreed to receive free credit education notices from the Mike Roberts Credit Solutuions Program.  One of these notices insisted that the first step in improving your credit score was to get a current credit report.  The notice provided a link to ScoreSense to get a "free" credit report.  I should have known  this was going to be a scam when they asked for a credit card number for the $1 processing fee.  I was able to access the 3 credit reports on line using the access I was given.   Then I received a membership notice in my e-mail.  The e-mail stated I would be charged a monthly fee unless a cancelled by a certain date.  I marked  the date on my calendar and called to cancel then.  When I called the first time I chose the cancellation option I was hungup on.  When I dialed back I was asked several minutes of questions and given advice on why I shouldn't cancel, then I was hung up on.  The third time I called back the rep confirmed that the account was cancelled and explained that I was charged the monthly fee of $29.95 since I missed the cutoff by 10 minutes.  Apparently you had to call by the date and time.  The Rep said he would file a refund request and that I should hear back within 3-5 days.  3 days later I ereceived notice that the $1 refund was approved but not the $29.95 monthly fee since I had missed the cancellation deadline.  I appealed and explained that I had waited for service on their CS line at least that long and asked them to reconsider.  They still declined.  If I'm going to be billed by this company then I'd gladly to pay the 30 cents for the 10 minutes of "credit monitoring" service that I received.

I'm submitting this complaint becasue I want to warn other people that both of these organizations seem like predators and not to make the same mistakes that I did.  Please see the replies to my inquiries below.

(2nd Request)  I asked you to please review your decision.  I missed the cut off by 10 minutes.  I was on the line waiting for service at least that long.  I can’t imagine that you would intentionally do business this way.  Your next reply will provide that answer.  I will either join the people who say you do business fairly or the ones that say you are running a scam.

(1st Request) I missed the cut off by 10 minutes and it took that long to get through to a rep.  Please reconsider.  I’d hate to become a part of the group that sees your service in a less than honorable light.

Just the Refund Please

 I have spent enough time on this issue already and have no interest in calling you to talk further.  I have explained the situation several times.  Please just refund the $29.95 to my account and we'll be done with this.  Once the credit is posted I would be glad to update the complaint to show it was resolved.
