I listed my Marriott Vacation Club Destination Points with this company in May of 2022 while I was residing in Chandler, Arizona.  The sales reps (Angela) represented that Marriott Vacation Club Destination Points could be sold for $10 per point ($70,000 for 7,000 points) and it was because of this representation, I agreed to list my units for sale for this value.  I was also required to pay an up-front fee of $7,992 based on this selling value.

Since listing with this company one year ago, I have received only two offers of $1,000 for 2,000 points.  Further, I have twice requested but have not been presented with any comparable market analysis that the suggested selling value of $10 per point, which the up-front fee was based on, is a legitimate value for these units.  Based on the $1,000 offers I have received and the lack of substantiation for the suggested selling value of my units, I have concluded that the representative fraudulently misrepresented the selling value of my units to entice me to list with the company to collect an exaggerated up-front fee.

YOU Could Have Prevented This!

AUTHOR: Irv - (United States)

Do you have any clue about the market for used time shares??? Did YOU do ANY research about this? Let me teach you...used time shares, if they sell, go for PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR! Secondly, why on earth did you pay them in advance? If they were so, so sure you could get that amount, why would they want a fee paid up front? Did you ever sell a house? Did you pay the real estate agent their commission BEFORE the house was sold??? Of course not! Why then would you pay it to these people? There is virtually ZERO MARKET for used time shares because thinking people fully understand buying any timeshare is one of the WORST purchases you can ever make. ANY timeshare is a very bad, incredibly bad deal...and THAT is an absolute FACT!

Why would you pay an huge lup front fee to list a timeshare? That wasn't a giant red flag to you? Any legitimate broker collects their fees if and when the property sells, based on the actual sales price. Anyone who wants a commission up front is a scammer. Apart from that, timeshares are virtually worthless and are usually impossible to sell or even give away.
