Sitelock.com - Complete Rip Off - Fraudulent false Positives Avoid being scammed that your site is vulnerable St Johns, Florida Florida

SiteLock.com gets you to install their free software and dashboard - usually by persuading gullable internet providers to host their free offering.

Shortly after installation you get a phone call and email saying your site is infected and unless cleaned will be blocked by Google etc. They then tell you that you have to upgrade their software (in our case $49.95) and that the site will also have to be cleaned ($300). They point you at their own dashboard that shows multiple infections. In fact, we were told that these were links to kiddy porn, hardcore porn and to malware. They claim that for a further $50 they can give you software that guarantees you site will remain clean (in fact, internet reports by other victims suggest that this make your site MORE vulnerable).

We are able to read code and therefore sadi we'd hang up to check saying we'd call back tomorrow. They were reluctant to let us leave. Our site had no such links in the code. Online scans for malware (Many on the web - you don't need SiteLock) can up clean (we ran 14!!!). Our Hosting Provider (Hostgator) also confirmed the site was clean.

Avoid installling the software from these scam artists.
