On December 25, 2020, Stanley Robert Gibson, JR (AKA Stan Gibson) of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada choked, then further assaulted his then girlfriend (a single Mom of 2 young children) by slamming her arm with her bedroom door before spitting in her face. After being charged with 'Assault' and 'Assault by Choking' and criminally cautioned against contacting the victim either directly or indirectly, Gibson texted the victim's Brother-In-Law and attempted to extort the victim into dropping the criminal charges against him – threatening that if she did not drop the criminal charges against Gibson, that he would contact the victim's ex-common law husband and fabricate testimony at the victim’s upcoming Family Law Child Custody Hearing in an effort to cause the victim to lose custody of her 2 children. Gibson was subsequently charged with 'Breach of Undertaking' and 'Obstruction of Justice'.

On July 23, 2022 Gibson's then pregnant girlfriend contacted Gibson's victim and advised her that Gibson had been abusive for most of their relationship which commenced April 2021; had repeatedly abandoned her – repeatedly moving in and out of her home; and that Gibson had further recently assaulted her by smashing her head into the window of Gibson’s work truck while she was 8 months pregnant with Gibson's illegitimate child (a daughter who was subsequently born in September 2022). Gibson’s girlfriend went on to state that Gibson had been served with a Restraining Order in relation to that incident.

On January 5, 2023 Gibson pled guilty to the ‘Assault’ and 'Breach of Undertaking' charges, was sentenced to 90 days incarceration (to be served under house arrest) and ordered to undergo Substance Abuse as well as Relationship counselling.
