You have probably heard his radio advertisements "The End of America".com. In this claim to fame ad, narrated by Alex Jones,  Porter Stansberry claims to have not only warned his clients about the 2008 Financial Crisis before it unfolded, but also claims to have help said clients actually profit from the Stock Market's Collapes between 2008 and 2009.

I subscribed to a number of his financial advisory newsletters and actually reviewed all his investment recommendations that were published prior to the financial collapes. His claims are almost completely false and absolutely misleading. He made 2 great calls around this time period: Shorting Capital One shares and advising clients that Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac we're heading to Zero". However the Fannie/Freddie prediction came after shares had already plummeted 70%. 

During this time period he was actually bullish on home builders and a number of blue chip stocks that must have cost his subscribers TENS OF (if not hundreds of) THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. There is absolutely no way he made anyone any money because of the 2008 Financial Crisis because he only advised his readers of fewer than 3 put options during this time period and none of them were even at the center of this monumental destruction of wealth and savings. Given this information, it is absolutely comical listening to his You Tube Channel and the claims he makes on his radio show which are re broadcasted there.
